Flush or not to flush!!

I use living soil and have never properly flushed my girls like you would do with synthetic nutes. But towards end of harvest I just give her plain water for a few weeks. But has anyone tried properly flushing living soil with any better results?

With true organics there shouldnt be much need to flush - there is no build up of salts and chems in the soil. When the plant starts fading it is using all residual nutrients from the leafs and is no longer finding it efficient to suck nutrients from the soil but basically drains itself of everything that it had stored. The plant ate what it wanted when it wanted it so it was (probably) never over fed, never force fed synthetics etc. It would be virtually impossible to flush a living soil as that would pretty much require draining all microbial and organic matter from your soil, which seems to be what your soil is made from - it is the dry and cure that removes any harsh smells or tastes and, that is why, IMO you have no need to flush organics. Just feed plain water, but you dont need to flush X nunber of L through the soil per day.

The Living soil I used starts with over 10k ppm. Suppose to last about 3months. It is possible to flush it out but it requires alot of water. I went from 8k to 6k after 3 flushes with Florakleen (FlashClean).

let me share my opinion: organic or synthetic, living soil or dead soil lol , doesn't matter. It's all about nutrient uptake rate of your plant. All minerals are transferred to leaves through stems.Living soil has its own microbe life and nutrients in it, other soil types need to be fertilized, this is the difference. In the end, all plants stock nutrients in their leaves(cannabis) and use them when needed.High amounts of nitrogen and sugar makes a harsh smoke, organic or not doesn't matter. With flush, you force the plant to use from storage instead of actively feeding roots and when trimmed well, you'll get a decent smoke. All kind of green parts taste a bit harsh. To compare, roll a joint with trimmed parts vs buds. If my plant has dark green leaves at the end,I give a good flush to make sure smoke is smoother. But,I've also had smooth smokes from non flushed plants. This is a very interesting point. But.... there is another purpose of flush ; to make the buds ripen more. I'm not looking from organic vs synthetic window, I go by my gut. If that plant was mine,I would flush for at least a week.any fading of color is good. More ripeness and no questions in my head :))
