Depending on your system and which strain you want to grow I would try get the closest pure indica you could that would probably be the shortest plant I have tried to flower in a 160cm tent before which is doub le that size and qithout very very good ventilation the humidity the plant creates is just too much for the small place to handle and the walls drip with condensation. I would advise a sog grow with clones but flipped as soon as they have rooted but many of them.

If have only 80 cm you will be limited on pot size and plant size regardless of strain - you will have to LST it very well as it stretches or a very low scrog net so it doesnt get too close to the light.

If it's 80cm working space then yes, you can. Remember your lamp will need a safe distance from your plant. There are some tiny strains that would fit in there even without LST, such as Quick One or Royal Dwarf. Alternatively you should be able to train your plant to grow sideways a lot. You can also consider growing a standard feminised plant instead of an auto, so that you can decide when it stops growing by lighting schedule.
