Fan leaf finger progression

greenhousegrowgirl
greenhousegrowgirlstarted grow question 3 years ago
I read somewhere that a healthy plant should increase fingers with each set of leaves. Wendy had two 3 fingered leaves, one of which wasn’t clearly defined. The next set of leaves look to have one with 4 fingers and one with 3. Should I be worried? Does she look healthy?

Wendy is fine and not unhealthy at all, leaf "mutations" are common with cannabis plants and as long as she looks a healthy green colour and grows progressively, you have nothing to worry about. Leaves with all sorts of numbers of blades - 10, 2, 4, 5, 7, 12, 9, 6, 11, 13 1, 2, 3, 7 and 8 are all possible.

Mutations can happen even in a plant that looks healthy - I have a plant finishing flower that looked lile a mutant to me, she became the biggest if 2 plants this last grow, stick with it and keep up the good work.

No stress. Your plant looks really nice. Check out my dairy of Jane. She was a scraggly girl early on but she pulled through. Good luck with your grow.

A couple leaf mutations early on is okay. I’ve had a plant that showed leaf mutations at every node. It ended up being disappointing in flower as well.
