PH drops every 4 days

I'm losing PH control 4-5 days after feed. PPM drops to 200-300 and PH drops under 5. I flush the res and add new solution every 5 days because this is what works to stabilize ph. It can hold ph for 4 days before I lose it again. You think I'm under feeding?

I would think best way to figure out would be the following: Check your volume, ppm and pH measure every 24 hours. You will see how much ppm & water the plants are going through every day and what the related pH change is. If you have a very high base pH of your water supply and have to add lots of pH- to get to where you need to be after adding nutes, once the ppm has depleted you may experience a yoyo effect. Along that line (from the other side) that if you fill up a 5L res to say 500ppm (as an example) and overnight your res loses 1L but the ppm is now 750ppm you need to dilute to bring it back as your nutes are effectively more concentrated due to the drop in your res and it is almost certain this would cause a pH swing too. I would suggest diluting first to fill the res and then ppming to where you need to be, wait 5-10 mins to let it circulate and then pH it - you may find that you can plot a bit of a course over a week, figure out roughly how much water and how much ppm is used per day and make micro adjustments every so often for topping up res and adding nutes and pH - rather than trying to hold out for a week at a time. Like rasta said below - air quality on your bubblers can effect pH too.

your pH dropping, which would indicate you have too much nutrient in your solution. Nutrient levels are too high. Click to see full answer. People also ask, what causes pH to drop in hydroponics? This happens because it already has all the nutrients it needs to grow and given the solution is too hot, the plant is being forced to take more water than nutes causing unbalance in the reservoir further resulting in unstable PH levels and worst. Also, what should the pH be in a hydroponic system? With a pH of 7 being neutral, such as with pure water, values below 7 are acidic and those above are alkaline (or basic). For most commonly grown hydroponic crops, an optimal pH range is between 5.5 and 6.5. why does my pH keep going down? When the plant consumes these acidic nutrients, the natural reaction is a rise in pH. This means it is normal for your reservoir to have a natural pH up-swing. pH goes down, EC goes up = Plants are putting nutrient into the water rather than taking them out. Nutrient levels are too high. Why is pH dropping so fast in DWC? If your ph is falling in DWC, it generally means your EC is too low (as above). There is a complication however and that is your air quality. When pumping air into a DWC bucket, you are pumping in Oxygen but also CO2. The addition of CO2 to water in this way is exactly the same process responsible for acid rain.
