need a 30-60x magnification to assess color of trichomes (as cheap as -6 and fancier options available). Toss out any ideas that may bias your opinion. Some ratio of the two will be "best" for you. Clear does not mean absent of THCs, that's a commonly repeated falsehood. It is probably highest right before it turns cloudy. Nonetheless, probably want some portion to be amber... as we care about the average of the plant, not the Minimum/Maximum data points.
