Personally I think there should be more instructions. I didn't even know about newbie of the month until I was into my 3rd grow. I didn't know about this competition (GOTM) for over a year when I got on this page. And I gave up trying to help. Too many bogus questions/answers.

I agree with everything - EVERYTHING - m0use and ezzjaybruh have said ... but most particularly what ezzjaybruh said here: "Sad to know someone could b jeopardizing a grow cuz someone wants a few white label auto seeds" I'm wondering why it is you put this up as a question and not as a comment on the contest page? More transparency about what's going on/not going on? Honestly, a little instruction to the questioners by GD would go a long way ... but they choose not to have ANY instruction beyond "keep your question short" kind of thing. As far as I'm concerned, when answering questions, the responder can put in anything they damn well like... Disclaimers/Instructions for GOTM/Please Note suggestions are just as good and just as appropriate as someone trying to peddle themselves as experts when indeed they're not. Certainly our answers could be wrong... but some just copy and paste (with a bit of their own bullshit) and/or plagarize either other websites or other people's answers... all, as ezzjaybruh says, in order to win a few white label auto seeds... This community, this PAGE is SUPPOSED to be about helping others... and so those who put in disclaimers/instructions/please note suggestions are doing just that... helping some poor soul who is new to the site avoid the pitfalls/bad advice/scurrilous blahblahblah ... No harm, no foul....

Would not really need it if the site functioned well in the first place but sadly it does not. I have talked to countless users weeks to months after the fact when they did not realize there was an inbox and did not understand why the questions part of the web page does not function like the rest of grow diaries. Maybe if GD had a walk though or some self explanatory page to communicate this it would be good, but none exists. I'm still learning the weird in's and outs of other shit they do on here that does not add up. 7hr bans for one, stupid ranking systems, random user bans and the process of getting unbanned. Knowledge is good and these tools helps us all, so give them out to everyone no?? most users asking the questions are new and may have no idea of any of this. I would have liked this information when I was a brand new grower asking questions. The bigger issue to me is why do the users have to patch the short comings of website that is farming data off of its base, why cant they fix the underlining issues with a simple popup/code rework?? I don't see how its removing anyone's enjoyment of the site, its still available to everyone and still free and open. nothings changed?

If we’re referring to the disclaimers on answers.. I understand the sentiment. There’s a lot of new users asking questions who have no clue that there is an underlying contest incentivizing nothing aside from being chosen as the correct answer. Period. There’s a lot of ppl gaming that system - which I’m sure you’ve seen. I have been around long enough to know your intentions and more importantly your knowledge.. but you are a rarity as far as I’m concerned. This whole GOTM set up peeves me honestly- and has for some time. There are plenty of vets such as yourself who would answer these questions merely to help out growers.. but there’s MORE out there who don’t have the knowledge and/or don’t have the intention to help out just to help out. I say cut the contest from it entirely.. more and more shitty answers appear each month. Sad to know someone could b jeopardizing a grow cuz someone wants a few white label auto seeds.
