Water pH

eddysstarted grow question 3 years ago
My water pH is 8, so use Biobizz ph-down to reduce it to 6 (5L bucket and used about 0.5L only). But when checked it after 2 days, I got again 8. It's normal? Should I use pH-down before every watering even it was already reduced?

Hello yes , id your water doesn't have the good PH you need to reduce even if it is already reduced. I use tri-acid ph down and i have less variations of ph. So check ph every watering if it is necessary and reduce if you need to. Good luck. Bye

Your ph can rise and is effected by temperature. Certain additives will evaporate out of sitting water. I use a phosphorus ph down. So plant is able to use it to grow as well. Which slowly brings my ph up. But also let's me know what the plant is using just by run off ph readings. Good luck and happy growing 🌱

Mix product 1 by 1 well stiring between them, then check de ph, adjust and stir, let it sit for about 10-15 min stir and check again, then water your plants and you'll avoid high fluctuations, in soil it by it self will do a buffer to stabilize substrate ph, but if you check the water ph stabilized will result in less fluctuations. If you're using benefical micos & bacto you shoul'd aim to a stabilized citric acid PH down solution, to protect them. And as always shake hard every bottle you use, even the ph down solution.

Yes it’s very common for water to climb after adjusting it. I was unsure too and asked. I’d had it climb from 6.3 to 7+ in 24 hrs so I just do it as i need it. My tap water starts at 7.6-7.8
