no.. this guy is backwards.. Do no take light advice from an auto guy.. Like taking driving advice from a toddler.. Sure they get the basics.. but light and light schedules have Dramatic effects on the plant... 12-12 to flower is recommended because it's a sweet spot for all strains of CAnnabis.. Some might flower better at 13 or 11.. But it's not the point the 12 hours of Darkness is what does the flower.. the amount of available photons OF COURSE would have an effect on a plant is Light heavy as cannabis is. If you shorten the Flower light time you will lower the yield that is what happens period.. Auto Flower plants grow EXACTLY like photo plants but they stretch for 4-5 weeks instead of the 2-3 weeks that photo plants stretch.. Auto plants are overblown new people things..

Listen to harbinger....only some strains like the shorter and shorter time cycle...I experienced it. It's only a learning experience, try it...don't try it...I'm all bagseed and I love the photoperiods

Plants grow faster with more light given the other environmental parameters are in check.. It's kind of what photosynthesis is all about...

Hey Growmie, If you shorten the hours it just makes the plant start flowering, and no there is no bad effect at all, just kicks the plant into flower like in nature. Hopefully, I answered your question and remember ..."Happy Growing" and "Free your mind one puff at a time"
