m0useanswered grow question 3 years ago If you growing in a tent you need ventilation in and out.
your ventilation going out. or suction as you call it, should be at the top of the tent where heat collects and rises. You should use a filer on it to reduce smells, but if that's not an issue, one is not needed. most people vent that outside to prevent it from heating up their place to much. This is where most growers put the fan forcing air out.
your ventilation going in should be at the base of your plants, tends to be a bottom of the tent, it brings in colder fresh air up and around the plants. the hole or holes if you want more then one, should be covered to prevent light leaks and have some sort of filtration in place to prevent it from sucking in a bunch of dust and bugs. clean it once a week. some people also use a fan here if the grow room is massive. I use passive air intake. meaning no fans just filters and light protection.
I also grow with LED's and they produce enough heat the fans are running multiple times an hour.
