Triploid cloning

On a triploid... do all of the axillary branches have 3 branches per node or just the main stem? So in order to clone a triploid do you have to take the top of the main stem to keep the 3 branches per node?

I have a plant going that has 4 nodes going with one massive flower starting on top. The side branches do not have this mutation and the clones I took from the side branches do not show this mutation. I would say if you want this mutation to carry on, you would need to take it from the branch with the mutation.

A true genetic triploid plant will have three nodes on the main stem as well as every branch. A plant with a random three noded branch is just an anomally and not a genetic fixed trait. These branches can revert back to 2 nodes at any time. If you are wanting to try and preserve the triple noded branch(es), you will need to clone them directly. Looking through your diary, all your seedlings started out as diploid plants (two nodes), if you had a true triploid, this would have been present right from day one, with three nodes/leaves, even three cotyledonds sometimes, appearing as soon as the seed started growing. Hope this helps, Organoman.

Wenn es eine natürliche Mutation ist (nicht durch Fimming provoziert), werden auch die Klone das gleiche Muster zeigen.

It depends.. I’ve seen it all from polyploids/triploids. Sometimes it shows early and goes away, sometimes it shows later in growth.. Sometimes the main stem won’t have it but side shoots/branches will.. Also consider that it’s easier to spot these in the first month or two of growth while nodes are even and symmetrical so to speak.. as they mature and you get the normal staggered branching that develops.. that will still happen and it makes it not as obvious.. hope that made sense To answer the question tho, I don’t believe it would matter if you take from main stem or a side branch.. it should either keep the trait or not, regardless of where it’s taken from. That’s just an educated guess tho. That’s exciting tho! I got one going right now on my bluenut butter seedlings. Hope it stays like that

From my understanding the plant grow out of this mutation after a few nodes from a seedling to a young plant? but you found one in week 9, so who even knows. Clone it up, but I don't feel it will only grow 3 stems per node moving forward, Its a random thing. Best of Luck
