Germinated and planted 5 Short Rider seeds. 4 took well 1 died almost immediately after planting. All 5 were in "big" Jiffy cups and planted in the same soil. Watered at the same time lights the same. They are working on a second set of leaves now. Didn't check them today. Hoping to see some nice second set of leaves. I've done loads of outdoor guerrilla grows but pot was legalized and I'm able to grow legally now first real indoor grow with tent and seeds.

2 seeds randomly died but the other 2 are doing just fine. Not sure what happened with them as they have been in the same environment, cups, feed schedule light time/distance. Anyways will start taking pics out of the room both survivors are almost finished a third set of leaves. All is well otherwise but I'm pretty rattled that 3 out of 5 seeds died before they even made it to week 2

Out of all my plants these 2 are being watched the closest. With the random deaths of the other 3 I have been keeping a close eye...and they are doing well. I feel like they are going slow though I figured I'd have like 4 to 6 inches easy by now on them. Hoping this is normal otherwise Happy. Also I tried taking them put of the tent and into the room for the pics I hope they aren't too overexposed.

Should I be doing defoliation to an autoflower plant when it is ready or should I leave it to do its own thing?

Finally! They are finally starting to grow nicely. I had concerns about size but theyve really started growing well so I transplanted them into 5gallon buckets. Now we wait and see.

Ud want to keep it on 18 hours. I run my Indoor autos on 20hrs per day the whole grow. U will dramatically reduce yield and lengthen flowering time dropping her down to 12/12... happy growing and stay lit fam.

So I know this is week six in my diary but technically were still in week 5 I messed up the weeks anyway. Plants are looking good been doing some light LST to the tops as they are still quite flexible. Only slight though I don't want to break the o ly 2 I have lol. Also I moved them into 5gallons basically when I posted last weeks diary and they are quite happy in there new home. The small one is sitting around 6.2 inches and the big one is just over 8in. Pistols started showing last night July 22nd so will start counting next week as flower. Also this is a 100% natural grow. Soil medium no nutes. I did a lot of guerilla grows outside prior to legalization so nutes were never a feasible option. After these 2 I may attempt to get a grow with some but these are 100percent nute free and no chems.

I found hermaphrodites in my budders so I chopped them...butI'm worried the pollen will have spread in the tent. How do I wash pollen off my plants just a light soap water mix? The tent has already been cleaned but I will do it again when I clean my plants. I just want to be sure

Pollen is alive for couple days up to couple weeks so if you moved it, most probably all is pollinated, your veg plants you can spray with pure water just to wash off, all grow space and traffic road, should be washed. You can't wash flowering girl, no way ! If you got pollinated, pray for good, that you'll find a seed here and there and thats it. If you look closer to your bud, you can easy spot pollinated calaxies. It will reduce your harvest, you'll have to watch what you grind, but its not a big drama if you saw it on time... I had two hermies from RQS run, they pollinated all garden, but in 100 g/ plant to find like 20 seeds, was sad, but i accepted it. Good luck !

So far so good. The girls are starting to stretch nicely. They probably won't be huge but they look like they are going to give me nice fat dense buds. Again. This being a NATURAL grow I am going with 0 chemicals and nutrients right now. That being said I have a mollasses/juice mix that I have used on budding plants in the past and may use it again. Not 100% but I was told the sugars help it produce crystal/resins in the last few weeks and have done so since I was told.

All good. Some leaves are getting yellow but everything is growing well so im not too concerned yet. Couple splotches parts on some older leaves too. Calcium deficiency I think but I'm not sure. I'll try and correct if it gets worse but its an inconsistent thing tends to happen and clear up on its own all the time. Haven't had to alter anything. This is i think the 3rd actual Flower week but that 2 weeks of stretch is hard to pinpoint the day 1. Hence my messed up diary weeks lol. Anyways I'm happy and I can't wait til these babies start pushing flower hard. They already have a faint smell of citrus and sugar. Delicious.

Doing great I think. A little concerned that one of my plants is getting red hairs already. Seems a little early but I'm gonna leave it as a grow question . I do get that autos do their own thing bit considering the other one doesn't even have one red hair vs the literal hundreds of them on its twin. Otherwise the smell is starting to come through. Very citrusy and sweet. Not super strong but its def there and if you touch the plant at all ot goes from weak smell to normal easily. Can't wait for these girls to finish. Anyone checking this out please lemme know how I'm doing. I've never done autos and all my grows prior to this year have been outside so its all still learning for me. Thanks guys.

Chugging right along were getting some stinky sticky ass buds. They smell my whole basement up of sweet citrusy with some skunks undertones(probably my photos that are also in bud but I dunno for sure) the buds are getting thicker daily and I mean daily doubling pretty well. I've never seen such a thing. I included the 4 photos I have that are also a month in to bud for a kind of comparison. The multi top frosty ass indica is the farthest along of the photos at 32days. I started them just before the autos went in. The other 3 are more sativa than frosty. They are all experimental to me so please excuse the way they are. I have been playing doctor since I bought this tent. Trying different things to see what works what doesn't what i am and am not capable of.Anyway I'm gonna start some Northern Lights x Big Bud Auto sometime after these 2 Short Riders get hung and i pull the indica . Ill keep a diary of it in case anyone starts following my adventures. Anyways I'm late with this one so enjoy my ramblings and my pics of my girls.

Well looks like things are nearly there on the natural plant. No more white hairs or fattening happening in 4 days(the top cola of my natural plant) the lst plant is nowhere near done though it gets fatter daily:) still TONS of new growth and bud stacking. Main cola is as big as my hand around. Stoked about it. Gonna hold off and see what happens but I say the tip is coming off this week and I'll leave the rest to finish. Very happy with this grow. I was worried cuz i saw people complain that they only got 3grams dry max of short riders but ill pull a quarter dry of the tips alone so I dont see any substance in those claims at all. They have been a pleasure to work with. Maybe Nirvana will check this out and help me with some seeds in the future :) hint hint lol. Anyways im out for now Happy growing from your Canadian Walrus friend! Edit: I decided if I top it then ill know if I want to keep it going or not. I haven't seen any developments in the top bud in over 5 days and to me that says TAKE ME. Will update soon since I'm going down to water them shortly. Edit2: Topped her. ONLY the one top bud on the one plant. Again it stopped doing anything a few days ago so here we go. When I cut it and trimmed it I guessed she was about 16grams wet. I hung her and went on with my business forgetting to check. I just weighed it(after a couple hours of drying) and it weighed 15.96grams wet. Years of diming out weed has honed my hands to accurate scales LMAO. Anyways shes hanging downstairs I have about 52% humidity right now. If it doesn't go up( or if it gets lower) I'll turn the humidifier on for a few minutes just to get some more moisture in the air. I was told 58 to 62 RH for the start of drying. I'll be very careful to not let the bud get wet or let too much humidity in the air. I have a hygrometer in the room near the bud so I know roughly what it is where its hanging.

Well guys and gals this is my first harvest here on Grow Diaries and the love and support has been amazing. Keep with me family I have many more adventures to come. I just received 20 Northern Lights X BigBud autoflower seeds. Yummy. Onto the rest of my rant now....here we go: So here's the deal. I was moving my room around and I saw discoloration on a couple buds. Checked it out and it was bud rot. That said i decided to take the whole plant since its so close to done anyways and not risk infecting the rest of the plant or any others in the garden. After chopping it and removing the rotten bits it looks great It MAY be a little early but someone here in GD says its better to get 70% of something you want than 100%of something you don't. That applies here as i generally prefer head highs to couch lock. Most the crystal heads were cloudy and starting to turn so its fine with me. The buds stink like citrusy sweet and a hint of skunk. Its described as skunky on the site but I either got the wrong seeds or they don't know what a skunk smells like. This is sweet citrus like pineapple or fresh cut oranges and a minor undertones of skunk...but very minor. I haven't tried it yet and will update when I do. Also I'd like to mention I will have a second harvest with this plant soon. I had 2 and only pulled this one due to mold. As far as growing it she was a relatively simple plant to take care of but I didn't know not to transplant autoflowers. This girl and her sister were transplanted twice if memory serves. I imagine she will be better in the future if I decide to get more seeds. She LOVED the LST by the way. I have main and mini colas all over the non harvested plant And it grew EXACTLY like I wanted turning its sides in to tops. Anyways back to the harvest. I have her hanging from clip hangars upside down in the basement. Threw a hygrometer in there to make sure I dont have humidity problems. Due to lack of space some are in paper bags :( I hear this socks the moisture out too quick sometimes so im glad its not alot. We will try it and see. I was impressed to see a quarter pound wet from her considering how badly I fucked up lol. I'm sure harvest 2 will be bigger. The buds are double the size. Anyways 2 more weeks ill have a bit more too add. Keep following along to see how big my other girl gets. I'm thinking a half pound for sure. Happy growing catch you all soon.
