Feeding with dense roots?

So I'm using 5 and 7 gallon pots and I'm using Gaia greens and some worm poo for my feed but once they start to take off into flower, all of my dry amendments build up on top bc of the roots. I want to stay organic but how can I feed these girls once the roots block up the pot?

You can top feed or use liquid organic nutrients. Here's an example of 2 brands of each: Top feed - Greenhouse Feeding Liquid Organic - Biobizz

The answer is ALOE VERA. Take a few seedlings, cure them and use their leaves. It has all the vitamins and rooting hormones you need to make a bang. Then you can keep using it throughout the cycle, you can find an amazing guide afterwards. But in the meantime use it to root, it's great for cuttings too. Honey and Aloe Vera on the cut stem or in the roots during transplants, without overdoing it with honey, you will do wonders. Natural things you can fix in no time. - A good amount of banana peels (a basket will do), sun dried until black, then pulverized. - You can also collect some coffee grounds during the banana process, if you drink as much coffee as I do in those 5/6 days you will have a nice container of coffee grounds. - Keep aside 2/3lt of water from cooking pasta, vegetables and legumes. - Also set aside some eggshells, and pulverize them. - After that take 4 medium sized leaves of aloe vera, remove the tips and the outside roughly and keep all the rest; of this make a nice smoothie with natural water. You can do each of these individual things to give lots of perfect nutrients for flowering (if you overdo it with bananas and eggshells), for vegetative growth (if you overdo it with vegetable, potato or pasta cooking water), and for germination and rooting you do a great job of abounding in aloe. Guys, this stuff is revolutionary.

Bottled liquid organic nutrients. I use Bio Vega and Bio Flores from Bio Canna which are excellent and have recently been trying Organic Grow and Organic Bloom from B.A.C. with good results too. They actually advertise the B.A.C. stuff as "vegan"! I still use dry amendments on top of the pots, even though they sit higher than the actual walls of the pot and just water through this layer. If you water gently, the amendments stay there without dislodging, all the while the nutrients percolate down to the roots. Just add a bit of coarse material to the amendment mix, like chopped alfalfa, so that the water can get through more easily. Worm poo can be steeped in water for 24 hours and used as a "tea", but it really only contains micro nutrients and will not be enough nutrition on its own. Stir the worm poo and water mix a few times, then let stand for a few hours before using so that the solids settle to the bottom and then you can decant the "tea" off. Dilute the "tea" with water until it resembles weak (normal) tea and it is ready to use. The slops in the bottom of the bucket are great to use in your next soil mix or in your compost pile. Hope this helps, Organoman.

You can try making a compost tea with the dry amends in water, just let it mix well with an air stone for a while, or just mix the crap out of it in a bucket with a elec mixer, drill and mixer bit ect and then pour it on. Its about the only option you have unless you wish to switch to bottled organic nutes for the last part of the grow once roots get too root bound, but if roots are getting so built up in the pots your nuts are not going in, that suggests you need bigger pots. if the 5's are getting the worst of the prob, stick to 7's as the smallest and consider trying a few 9-10's and see how you go.
