My lighting timer has malfunctioned and I found the lights in my tent when they should have been off. Flowers are in week 7 and just about to be ready to harvest, can I correct the mistake and just leave the lights off for another 12 or 24 hrs to avoid veg / cropping.

At this stage of flowering and if it only happened once, it will not affect your plants at all. To induce re-vegging takes many, many days of extended light cycles, a couple of hours of light at the wrong time will not cause re-vegging. Just leave your timer as normal, do not change anything or do weird things like 12 or 24 hours of darkness, which is likely to cause more metabolic shock than 2-3 hours of lights on for one night by mistake. This one off extra light at the wrong time will also not cause a sudden change to hermaproditism either. Your plants will be just fine, just don't do anything weird to upset them, like an extra long dark period, the less weird things that happen, the happier your plants will be. Hope this helps, Organoman.
