slugs are the worst , same with inchworms ... never mind birds. nothing can resist them, not like how you're saying. i'm liking the cat idea, but i've seen countless plants damaged by cats. this is the price you pay for growing outside. try a circle of diatomous earth around the pot of the plant against bugs and slugs maybe. Hope this helps ! 🚀

There's a great organic defensive for slugs/snails. My entire garden was dominated by them and now not a single one can be found. It's made from iron so you can out on the soil around the plant and the ones the snails don't eat actually turn into nutrition for the plant. It's called sluggo, made in germany but available worldwide (even in a shithole country like mine). As for birds, get a cat 😂

I haven't found one that is resilient to slugs, snails or birds. I wait till they are stronger to put outside as less chance of them getting destroyed instantly. I throw a pea net over the top of the area to stop birds. Snails slugs are a nightmare. I am going try garlic clove around the perimeter next time because apparently slugs and snails don't like it. Not tried that yet but it's got to be tried this year. Sorry I couldn't help with a snail resistant strain.
