This plant is way to tall

I am growing in a basement and one of my Sativa plants is over 5 1/2 feet tall. I can move the light another 4-5 inches up- but that's it. I was worried about this plant so I flipped her a few weeks ago- and boy did she stretch. I am scared shitless of topping her.

Hi Noahbear, I wouldn't top her. If it is in the beggining of pre flowering I would do some super cropping (HST) . Link below https://ilgm.com/blog/marijuana-grow-course/grow-skills/super-cropping/ If it's too far into flowering I would just LST away from the light. Good luck, it's lucking good ;)

Never cut your plant at all after flipped to flower, except for large fan leaves that cover buds, if anything. When in flower, the plant doesn't work on branching or creating much foliage and is focused on making inflorescences (buds). What you can do to reduce height is to use LST, low stress training. Use gentle twine or nursery string to bend the branches down. You can also use supercropping, which is when you squeeze the stem, and bend the stem down at 90 degree angle without breaking the bark of the stem. Here's a link with more info: https://www.growweedeasy.com/lst-to-grow-short-sativa
