Stretch to the light

How can you tell if your light is to close or to far? Is this gal stretching to much? Should I have increased the dimmer and/or lowered the light earlier?
Solved
Plant. Too short
Plant. Too tall
Setup. Lighting

Looked up your lights PPFD Map and figured out. For 18h of light for seedling you need 200-300umol. On your map thats 24-30inches away from the light. I'd stick it around 24-27. (Also, with your light Id do 12 inches for both veg and flowering. Its not the strongest light but will do 1 plant with pretty consistent results on the whole canopy) Good luck!

Hello Chow_13, Your seedling is stretching a little bit so you might want to consider moving the lamp just a little bit closer to your plant. If it continues to stretch you most definitely need to lower your lamp. If the leaves starts pointing up (aka praying) then the lamp is too close. Good luck with your project, I wish you all the best! 👽

o aumentar el dimmer o bajar la lámpara, sin embargo se ha estirado pero en cualquier caso no se ha estirado excesivamente, siempre y cuando no lo vuelvas a estirar, solo acerca la lámpara o aumenta la luz ... ya ves

Ideal ppfd for a seedling is 100-200 ppfd. That's Photosynthetic Photon Flux Density (PPFD), or how many photons that will make the plant grow are hitting the leaf. That density increases as the plant gets older, your conditions and your Co2. Your light mfg should have a PPFD chart for your specific light or you can download a phone app and get a close approximation but it won't be exact. One I use is called Korona for iPhone. Unfortunate name but the app works well.

Hey mate. Ya, I worried about the stretch too haha. Looks to be fine and it's not too tall at all. What I like to do is I'll put the plant hella low in the net pot so that if there is too much stretch you can just add hydroton around the stem to the top or vice versa. these things are hardy so if you can carefully dig around and get the Rockwool or whatever cube lower in the pebbles. Light stress to me is when the leaves bleach white or heat/light stress when the leaves curl up like a canoe or boat. try not to change things so often. was a big mistake id make because I couldn't tell what decisions were right because I was so neurotic id change something every day thinking the wrong thing was the issue. Good luck!
