I run autoflowers under 24h of light myself. You can check out my DWC OG Diesel Kush autoflower diary out if you want to. I also ran a 24H critical gorilla glue autoflower in soil that’s in a diary

Organoman is correct. Plants need dark to metabolize the food they created during light hours. Here is a good read on the subject. https://thepracticalplanter.com/do-plants-need-darkness-to-grow/

NO, NO, NO, all plants need sleep to finish their photosynthesis cycle and have a correctly functioning metabolism. A plant with an incorrectly functioning metabolism will never grow to its full potential. You will get a better yield from a plant with a correctly functioning metabolism than a plant that is exhausted and stressed from weeks of no sleep! 18/6 is optimum. 20/4 is no better than 18/6.

All plants including cannabis need a rest period for a properly functionning metabolism. so go either 20/4 18/6 or 16/8 google "circadian rythm in plant lifecycle" for more details

I'm a fan of rest for the autos and unless everything is perfect and locked in, that resting period can help you avoid issues with the plants. I do 18/6 all grow as it works for me. Its also cheaper to run lights for 18/6 vs 24/0. Yield will be maximized on 24/0 but not in a significant way, could easily use some techniques and yield just as much. there is a good form on autoflower.net about this very subject. some users say that no rest makes buds lesser quality but its all anecdotal. Autos grow in an area where the summer days are aorund 16-18hrs, they evolved with some expectation of darkness. I am looking into running 24/0 in the first few weeks of its life to maximize its potential from an early start but undecided on if it will be worth it. Need some side by sides to see what the results say. Try 24/0 if you want, if stuff is just weird or not turning out right, drop it down to 18/6 for a few days and see if it fixes it. Good Luck!

There are those who will tell you that 24/0 stresses them out but I ALWAYS grow mine with 24/0 light! And they've been just fine. I started doing that in the winter when I couldn't keep the temperature up in my tent any other way and there was no difference in yield... in fact, it might have increased it. Now that it's summer and the afternoon are hot, I give them a rest period again just because of the temperatures... Autoflowers will grow no matter what... that's what they're programmed to do! Good luck with your grow!
