40% humidity is pretty good but since you're having problems with mold, you might try to get that down even lower - to 30-35% if possible! One cheap way to reduce humidity is to buy 2 5-gallon plastic buckets and drill some holes in the sides and bottom of one of them... put that one inside the bucket that is whole and fill the whole thing up with rock salt... The rock salt will take a lot of moisture out of the air and turn it into water which drips into the bottom bucket... you'll have to check it regularly and empty it out.... And then, as Hashy said, keep checking your buds.... I wouldn't just whack the plant because you found mold on one bud... Give the girl a chance!! Put it this way - if you just chuck the plant, you'l never know if you could have gotten a good harvest from her. The time to ditch it is when the mold becomes unmanageable.
One other way to attack the problem and try to prevent the spread of the mold is to spray your plant with a mixture of hydrogen peroxide and water... or you could try neem oil... anything that will kill the mold spores on your plant and in your tent...
Good luck!
