High humidity

I hit 70% of humidity this night in my growroom when I usually have 60% tops at night and a good dehumidifier is quite expensive. Any quick tips to decrease HR without one ? And if I can't, how bad is 60% average HR ?

Watch out for overlapping foliage or buds really close to each other (like hand in hand) and make sure you have enough circulation. Enough fans, like monkey fan oscillating from secret jardin. I'm in week 7 flower and the buds are really dense, in night time also around 70/75% and daytime around 65 %. In nighttime there is little evaporation so it should be no problem with a resistant and healthy plant. Dwc like mine is somewhat less resistant to mold because of the constant supply of water but i have none. The trick is that when there is moisture that doesn't dry up, then the molding process starts. The plant must breathe and release moisture otherwise it will rot.

Hi there T1000 , first off let me just say : plants actually like high humidity so it's no major but it can eventually lead to mold so that's what you should be worrying about. If you're not able to fix it , try to add beneficial bacteria to prevent the mold like bacilus subtilis or bacilus thuriengiensis (the strong of the two). The next thing is try to get an evaporative cooler, this will stabilise the humidity around 50% which is perfect. Usually you can find one for like . Hope this helps ! 🚀

You can buy damp-rid which essentially acts as a dehumidifier, I picked up two big tubs of it and was able to get my rh down to 50, baking soda also works but you need more of that. Not sure if your able to but I've found dehumidifiers on Amazon for . They say 50% and below is where you want to keep your rh during flower so you don't get mold. Personally I'd want to find a way to lower than hope 60% doesn't ruin anything.

60 is okay but the main problem with high humidity is when your dealing with large plants grew in a water based system like the grower below me DWC i have grew like that for many years and was constantly fighting the humdity as our buckets mix oxygen with water which increases evaporation and raises humidity. The second reason is plant will produce thier own humidity when awake they will disperse some moisture into the air again raising your RH. Your extracton units should take damp hot air out of your tent and it should be being dispelled somewhere else. I would upgrade your extractor and try and aim for a little bit of negative pressure in your tent (walls bowing inwards) when you have that you will know you have good air exchange between your fresh air intake and your extraction unit :) best of luck high humidity is also a problem when dealing with large colas. if humidty is high to begin with and you have really wet resinous colas thats bound to attract some kind of nasty mold spore and you could loose a few colas or worst of all the whole crop. some molds are really hard to see because almost all of them infest the inner part of the bud first and then spread out so basically by the time you have seen it its already too late. Any plant that gets infested with mold and cant fight it off will not taste right and be very harsh and taste awful better to just be made into hash or concentrates if that happens. Though thats my best pot shot at humidity lol
