Airy buds during the trim

Noahbear
Noahbearstarted grow question 2 years ago
I just harvested a bunch of plants- different strains- mostly Sativa. After hanging them for 10 days and waiting for the crack...I have been trimming them. I am wicked disappointed how many airy buds there were. I know they lose water weight. Tips for next time?

Yeah I had that very thing. I think with new growers, (well was the case for me) is you see more growth meaning for weight when In reality unless you got some killer lights and great light pen with static lights you really should be removing all that airy larf early on. It'll show itself even before pre flower as stand alone little heads way down the nodes. So remove all that, and even threw pre flower you'll get little bits of larf that's nothing but energy wasters that energy should go to the top sites. I stupidly brought a whole plant to harvest and 3 part harvest it had so much larf and all I saw was weed and if I kept taking the top of that it would turn magically into nice dense bud, when in reality the bud quality mostly will come down to pre flower and how you get your light to them sites and getting rid of all that larf. Now you can go even further and do lollipoppoing. That's removing lower growth down the ends of the plant and nodes and making for a nice heavy top canopy. So if anything, remove all that energy wasting stand alone growth and little bits of larf that'll pop up right through pre flower. You do want to get rid of most of it before pre flower but you definitely want rid of it before pre flower ends cause after that you may aswel leave it cause its used up the energy that would of went to the top. So look into lollipoppoing or at best remove all that airy larf before or during pre flower. Good luck..

It's all in the light, environment, and nutrients at the proper ph and levels.

Hey.
