Get an automatic watering device. They are inexpensive and can save your grow when you travel. The watering machines are so inexpensive that I always use at least two in case one dies the other will continue watering. I adjust the watering time and frequency to give the plant about as much water as it receives when I am home. The ones I use are USB or battery powered so they work even if the power is out. They can be programmed to water once or several times per day and you set how long the pump runs on each cycle so you can control how much water the plants recieve. I have each machine plumbed to have six emitters. When growing multiple plants I will set up several machines and each one will water part of each plant. For example; if growing two plants I will use two watering machines when I travel. Each watering machine has six emitters. I put three emitters in plant #1 and three in plant #2 and I do the same with the other machine. Together they provide the full watering amount needed, but if one quits working at least the plant still gets half a dose.
