Mg deficiency?

LastOpus
LastOpusstarted grow question 2 years ago
I am having a problem with the Grandmommy Purples, I Had to switch them off of the Nutes they were on and have just started them back to FF nutes. I initially thought and still do that it is a Mg deficiency but I dont seem to be able to correct it. Any insight would be helpful.

So I'm going to disagree with my growmies about the pH... 6.0 in soil is perfectly fine and all nutes SHOULD be able to be absorbed... I tried to find the NPK numbers for the Dr. J stuff and was not successful... And you're not making sense to me when you say you're now feeding with "FF Sensi Grow - Bloom" since Sensi is Advanced Nutrients, not Fox Farm... BUT... I think that your issue is probably one of a lockout of calcium and magnesium due to an overload of nitrogen... I know that Sensi Part A has an NPK of 4-0-0 which is crazy for flower... and I'm highly suspicious that the Dr.J stuff, since it screams it grows great big stuff, probably has a very high level of nitrogen as well... So here's what I would do: flush. Flush, flush, flush... get everything back to basics, ground zero so to speak... run 15 gallons of pH'd water through each pot (the general rule of thumb is to run 3x the amount of water as your pot size) ... into the LAST gallon of water, add your bloom nutes only... then let them dry out before continuing on with your water/feed/water/feed routine. The damaged leaves are not going to repair themselves, so don't expect that... but you shouldn't see further progression of the problem. Good luck!

Hey, the min PH I would do in soil is 6.2 ideally 6.4-6.8 for myself. To low if you cause issues with the microbiome of it all. You should be monitoring the EC/PPM of the feeding solution and this would help your determine if it is a buildup lockout or PH issues as well. Given that your growing in soil flushing can have a negative impact of compacting the medium and holding onto to much water and cause root rot. You have to water in real slow and confirm the run off is allowed to drip down into something and not soak in the bottom collector tray. Best Of Luck! ***disclaimer, multiple people are answering all questions as there is a contest called GOTM, when a user is selected as the answer they get a point. @GrowingGrannie, my apologies I did say FF but it is Advanced nutes. Sorry still waking up. The DrJimz is out of the picture and I have started flushing as I thought the same regarding lockout. My PH may be a touch low but it hasn't bothered any of my other grows @ 6 to 6.2. I may run some clearX through it with the flush to get back to zero

and p.s... the Fish Shit also has a high degree of nitrogen in it... you can continue using it BUT I would cut the dosage down to 1/4 ...

Your ph is a little low for soil grows. 6.5 is where I keep soil grows through the entire grow

@GrowingGrannie, long story really. I switched off of Dr. Jimz when I started to notice the deficiency and have been off DrJ for about 3 weeks. So they have had 2 feeds back on FF Sensi grow/Bloom. The Fish shit is still in the mix. I tried a Epson salt foliar to see if it help but no change

Got a couple of questions for you ... and since no one is notified when answering in here, I'll keep checking back to see if you're answering or I will DM you... Can only see the Fish Shit and the Dr. Jimz in your nute report... what Fox Farm have you switched to - what amounts - and WHEN did you switch? and WHY did you switch?
