Really depends on the contests rules. Take for example the following contests that are active right now and how they are joined.

these are the normal monthly contests that happens all the time.
they require you to upload diaries or photos in order to join, some of them must be from a specific breeder like MOTM, but the rest are any breeder.

All these contests are the special ones that do not repeat monthly. Some of them you need to be selected by the host of the contest and they you can join once you get their permission.
These ones are almost always specialized int hat you need to use their products.
Read every contest carefully as the rules will say who, what, where, when, why and how, If they don't, or its not clear to you, ask a question on the contest wall and someone should help yea out. Almost all the contest you have to manually join. the exception to this is GTOM it auto joins you for answering questions.

Ideally, you're going to want to have a harvest to show off in any contest.... but there are contests for photos, memes you create... different kinds... just read the requirements and then join if you meet those! Good luck!

Adjusting pH in coco coir.My pH is too high. I have Up/Down, but I don't really understand how to use it. I have one of the cheap pH testers, but I have little confidence in it. I would like to lower the pH, but I feel like 10 gallons of soil is too difficult to lower the pH since it's so much. Tips?Other. Other

Is pollen from male viable/usable for pollination as soon as pollen sacks are visible?Can I harvest pollen as soon as pollen sacks are visible? or does it need time to mature while on plant? plan to dry out and save some branches from males for possible breeding later down the road.
