Changing effects with CBD weed

I've been experimenting with this now, Taking a few hits of the CBD weed some hours before any THC weed make the THC high extended and increased. When using a 50:50 blend of CBD:THC weed the CBD greatly lowers and shortens the high, I'm not saying this is a bad thing. Thoughts?

From everything that I have read it should not increase the high. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC9207456/ However I did just google this and found this one article about it suggesting otherwise. It is a paid article and google gave me a glimpse into the context. it said smaller doses of CBD like 5mg and under before smoking THC increased its effects. but higher does of CBD like 400mg decreased THC effects. I keep trying to get the snip it but I can not anymore. https://accpjournals.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/phar.2469 I grow a lot of CBD:THC ratios weeds normally 1:1 or 2:1 and I think I even have seeds for a 3:1 ratio. The 1:1's and 2:1 get me just as high as low cbd weeds do, but I am a light weight and occasional user not everyday. When I give these strains out to regular users they say its nice just not as strong as they are used to. You could test this out by ingesting a lot of CBD weed one morning and a regular amount of THC weed shortly after and see if it has the same affects as before. As a higher doses of CBD will theoretically lower the effects of the THC. and maybe your CBD weed your smoking is just not that strong either. This article is also a good read for yea. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC9207456/ This is a snip it from it, [CBD weakly binds to CB-Rs but is capable of antagonizing the effects of THC, even when the former is present in low doses. By inhibiting the degradation of the endogenous cannabinoid anandamide, CBD intensifies, and prolongs its effect ] Lota information here, review it when you have time. I will keep looking for a way to get that full article that's a paid subscription. FYI: We will not be notified of any reply or tag [@] in the questions part of the website, if you need to reach out with other information use your DM "direct mailbox" in the bottom right hand corner of the page. it looks like a little paper airplane icon. Best Of Luck!

I can't address your questions directly, but perhaps you find this interesting; I read this book recently: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Cannabis-seeing-through-smoke-Science/dp/1529360498 It's written by a British professor who has quite some experience in the field of marijuana (and psychedelics), I can recommend it to anyone interested in reading up on impacts on health of smoking marijuana and (to a limited extend) the combination of THC and CBD in marijuana strains. According to the book, most of the research that has been done on the effects of marijuana on health have been on strains containing <12% THC and up to 4% CBD. Much of this research concludes a limited negative impact on health and even positive impact in some cases, and if I remember correctly most of the positive impact come from the combination of CBD and THC. Though many of the strains today contain materially more THC (up to ~24%) with negligible amounts of CBD, which seem to introduce/increase potential negative impacts (though not much research has been done on these high THC low CBD strains). I'm sharing this because after reading the book I decided to switch to strains with lower THC and relatively more CBD to avoid any negative impact (as I've been smoking quite some bit during the pandemic). As it's hard to find strains containing CBD and low THC in my area I decided to take CBD drops while smoking. I haven't directly noticed a huge difference, but this was more due to the poor/inconsistent quality of marijuana available to me - which is why I've started growing myself. The book led me to decide to focus on strains with max ~12% THC and at least some CBD as to limit any potential negative impact.

CBD attaches to the same cannabinoid receptors that THC does so in theory it will reduce your high because they will block thc from attaching to the receptors that the CBD attaches to.

High eurorack, I used to vape CBD (mostly by day) and smoke THC joints (mostly at night). They say that when you are mixing CBD and THC you will get something known as the entourage effect. The entourage effect is the idea that cannabinoids work better together, instead of apart. I personally do like to use them seporated and not to mix them up. Because I like the high from my spliff and the CBD is making the high less strong. But I can imagen that for some people that like a mild high it could be an outcome. Everyone got his/her personal prefference and the most important thing is that this beautiful plant can give everyone his/her perfect high! Enjoy getting high folks!
