BTi + sticky traps... 2-3 weeks it'll clear. If you have a rez, check out "BTi dunks" too, but those will potentially clog an irrigation system. Brand name matters not. It is a bacteria. Google for spelling. i won't embarass myself. other methods like nematodes can coincide as long as it also does not sanitize, like h2o2, or have antibiotic qualities. use multiple methods for fastest cleanup. killing at all stages of life cycle is a good thing.

DE or diatomaceous is a huge respiratory irritant and should be used with caution, it's only actively killing them when it is dry. As soon as it gets wet it is useless until it dries out again. I find it clogs filters and is better used for other applications of pest management in areas where this is little to no air movement. eg under kick boards, between walls, inside outlets and below cupboards, Nematoads and BT are the best options that are not to detrimental to the grow. Nematodes and BT will kill the larva, sticky traps will get the adults. two step life cycle eradication for faster results, Peroxide will kill the eggs if used in high enough concentrations but can damage the roots of the plant as well as set in motion other issues from sterilizing the medium. not the best for soil. Good Luck!

Everything below is great information, I would also add that adding diatomaceous earth powder on the top level of soil is key! Do this with the yellow sticky traps, mosquito bits, and IPm. The diatomaceous earth powder cuts them up like razors and gives the plants a silica boost. Good luck!

I've never NOT had success in battling these things with Mosquito Bits... very simple to use.. soak the granules in water for 30 minutes, strain them out and use the water to water your plant. Use it only once a week for a maximum of 3 weeks (for the heaviest infestation)... no more fungus gnats... The damned things live in the soil itself so just setting out fly paper won't do a thing.. Mosquito Bits will kill adults, eggs, larvae... and it sure sounds like you've got a massive infestation which will eventually lead to them killing your plants if you don't do something SOON... they feed on decomposing materials in the soil but once that stuff runs out, they start attacking the roots themselves... by adding the compost, you gave them more to eat so they'll stay away from the roots for now but that certainly won't do anything to kill them - it only feeds them! Mosquito Bits. Now.

Definitely use nematodes. I used it in the summer for my normal plants. We have plants in our house and there were lots of gnats in the living room and kitchen. That is the perfect cure. Keep the fly catchers in your tent. Also use a lemon scent for your grow room. Lemon/citronella oil sticks can do the job. It keeps them away. The ones who stay away will die in a few days eventually. Nematodes eat the larvae and stay active as long as the medium is moist and they have larvae as food. They don't attack the roots of the plants.

Btw one uk vendor sent me 50 bags of infected BioBizz AllMix. I like it a lot, but could not understand why at both sites gnats started. 5 miles apart grow spaces, but both got same mistake ... When i used last 6 from that batch in new grow, i had it again. Bags have mini holes for ventilation, so if Wearhouse is infected you could get bad batch too ... I changed vendor. Still would use BioBizz AllMix
