Hi,im upto the beginning the beginning of week 10 flowering, with about 2 weeks left.
I have a problem with thrips bought in with a bag of Plangron soil, I got predators to tackle them, but now they have exploded in population, and these onion thrips ,
You need something organic that can be sprayed even on the flowers at this stage of the game... Spinosad or Dr. Zymes (Spinosad being the most effective against thrips).. something like this: https://www.amazon.com/BONIDE-PRODUCTS-250-Ready-Captain/dp/B001VJ4FYQ/ref=sr_1_8?gclid=Cj0KCQjw0oyYBhDGARIsAMZEuMuHBslrSJgY71j-ZDfw1L-gNxZXi_-W0vnTlg2MOv7Xm8Yaj4Bx5HoaAms1EALw_wcB&hvadid=431729527916&hvdev=c&hvlocphy=9002619&hvnetw=g&hvqmt=e&hvrand=6089211096662090497&hvtargid=kwd-301616709294&hydadcr=22285_11243227&keywords=spinosad+organic&qid=1661171961&sr=8-8
Or I'm sure you can find something at any garden center ... but it MUST contain spinosad....
Good luck!
I put sticky traps in the tent from the beginning,no help at all. The onion thrips are orange /red and sit on the top of the leaves.
What im really asking is if the plants can finish ok,with just 2 weeks left! Without spraying buds with anything? I will order the bio control mentioned, but it will take a week to come, i dont live near a outlet here.
For any sort of soft bodied pest invasion, just whip up some nicotine water and spray it on the plants.
Let a couple cigarettes or nicotine chew pouches sit in 99% isopropyl alcohol for a while. Then, strain the liquid through a coffee filter or cheese cloth. Mix it with water and spray on your plants.
It doesn't have any oil in it, so it won't mess with your buds. The nicotine will slay any pes it comes in contact with.
I hope this helps.
All that information is great. Its just ordering and waiting a week maybe for it.
Until then. Pop up to your local chemist and get some H202, look up at H202 flushing.
35% food grade stuff works best, but a high dose of 3% mixed at 2ml/L should be enug to attack them until the products that the guys below said.
Good luck
Just popping back to say BT only attacks chewing insects which thrips are not (BT works brilliantly on things like catepillars)... and Spinosad will NOT affect the quality or taste of your buds... :-D
