Nitrogen deficiency?

Daytrip97
Daytrip97started grow question 2 years ago
It’s closer to end of flower so I’m not too worried, but is the clawing on the lower right side due to a nitrogen deficiency(best guess due to yellowing)?

The clawing is nitrogen toxicity or possibly due to nutrient salt build from not watering to run off each time... The yellowing is perfectly normal for this late stage of flowering and mainly due to the plant recycling nutrients from the older leaves to use for flower growth.........(this is why defoliation should be avoided, without those leaves the plant would not have a ready made source of pre-made growth elements (amino acids, sugars, carbs etc) available for use in flower formation).

I'm with m0use on this one... but I'm also of the opinion that, since you're so close to harvest, you needn't worry about it. But m0use is right - it's either overwatering or excess nitrogen and if this was earlier in the grow, I'd be suggesting you do a flush. As it stands, just start giving plain pH'd water from now until harvest and you'll be fine. Good luck!

Typically if clawing and nitrogen are involved is from excess or toxicity vs a deficiency. Over watering can also makes the leaves look like they are clawing. Given your pics I would say you are over feeding them and a lockout is happening. Good Luck

I like to think of plants as a pool of resources. What happens above the soil cannot exceed its capacity under the soil. At the later stages of flowering sometimes the plant will cannabalise its own lower "old growth" that gets little light and replaces it with new growth or in this stage of growth buds. This is a good measure to judge when plant has grown to its potential given pot size. Cannabilization or the decay of cannablized leaves accelerates in dry conditions. Air circulation even? At this stage of flower we care little for nitrogen and certainly won't add more.
