hi guys, I have a question, how many times should I transplant and which pots to use to get to the final 18l pot? the plant is a photoperiodic. then I was also wondering if it is mandatory to transplant or could 1 pot only be used from seed to harvest?

Old plastic can with a removable lid, make holes in lid cut container in half, germ then plant. Once it's time to transplant just take the lid off the bottom and plant roots will do the rest.

I like to start in 6 inch pots and once they're comfortable and full in those I go right to final destination no matter how big the pot, and if I'm cloning and indoor I have a aeroponics cloner ill go right from there to final destination, plants with thrive no matter where they land as long as you take care of them...I dont like to start photos in the final pot but autoflowers are best to start in their final pots...Good luck, hope that helped..

You don't HAVE to transplant... you can start the seeds in the final pot but, as UnkleSkunk said, you'll struggle in the beginning. And there's also no set size of pot nor is there any set progression of sizes - it's what you have and what you're comfortable with... When you've got a really good rootball, it will be time to transplant and the new pot should be at least twice the size of the old pot - but it can also be larger. Again - it's what you have and what makes you comfortable but if you've started out in a 4L pot, I would suggest going straight to the 18L ... Good luck

Hola.
