it compacts over time from watering. if you don't, use a normal watering can or wand to lessen impact of water compacting substrate - soil or coco. 10-20% perlite helpes too. unless you are transpanting, and likely even then, i would not disturb anything like what you ask. you will most definitely cause more damage than good, if any at all. roots can grow throug cement.. maybe not literally, but they are quite good at borrowing. it's okay. roots will air prune when they get to edges.. the solid nature will aid O2 at least to a larger surface, but the compaction never helps, but is unavoidable to some extent. It doesn't look like you just dump a gallon on your plants all at once, so all is well i bet.

You should on average aim to water your plant every 3 days for roots to get the oxygen they need. That said, many factors will delay the drying time. Temperature, humidity/VPD, Ventilation, Watering frequency and volume. Keep conditions like a warm breezy summer day, 25C daytime temp, I like 40-45% humidity for good transpiration, make sure there’s a lot of fresh air coming in and good exhaust, set up a fans and just don’t water them so much. Small plants like to be watered more often with less water and bigger plants like heavy waterings less often
