Hey guys. I have an air pump and air-stone for a hydroponic set but i decided to use a “smart pot” instead. Would putting the air-stone in the soil or directly under the pot help in any way?

The soil should be a lighter, more aerated mix if you are concerned with oxygen in the root zone.

No, don't put the air stone in the soil. You could make it a drip fed system and put the air stone in the reservoir? Otherwise just leave the air stone and pump out of it altogether. 2nd option: you can make a DIY "Oxypot" as you already have the pump and stone. You'd just need a bucket with a lid, a handful of clay pebbles and a net pot... spend max.
