Why do my autos take longer than everyone else with same strain

If you live in a different part of the states or heavy LST make your autos take longer to grow. I see all these diaries that at 7-8 week there’s is not only way smaller ( I only have the diaries going now) and they are finished way sooner than when I have grown them. Thank you

Gday m8, I wouldn't take the age of the plants posted in people's diaries as 100% correct. Some people post at the start of the week and others post at the end, giving the Impression some people's plants are larger when really they are a week older. As for the lst question, yes nearly any training to an auto will slow growth unless you are gentle and don't do any high stress training like topping. (Experiment a little yourself and you will learn more than anyone can tell you) Plenty of people train there autos including myself, check out my grows if you like. If you check my germination comment on my diary's that's usually what I'd call day 1, so you can always do the maths and find out roughly how old someone's plant is as long as they are honest in there diaries. Again good luck and happy grows

I guess it is time to step up the game and start on photos. you are all right there are to many variables to give an answer it also might be my perception cause they are pics and not live so it is hard. I figured the longer grow time had to do with the way I train them, I put these girls in some pretty weird positions and break at least one branch every grow.

Never compare your grows to other peoples grows............there are far too many variables at play that can affect results.............lighting, nutrition, grower skill, genetics, hydro vs soil, temps etc...........then there is the question of the truth and bending the truth. Also agree 100% with Ezzjaybruh, grow photo fems and forget autos, your results will be hugely better and easier to achieve too.

Yeah agree with some of what Ned said there. Reality of the ruderalis genetics and the way they have been bred is that the whole “fast buds” thing just isn’t reliable. You’ll see most finish between 70-100 days and plenty go longer than that.. it’s the nature of them. If you feel you’re struggling - try photoperiods. Contrary to marketing/advertising - I believe autos are for more seasoned growers than beginners. And given the timeframe I just outlined - you can finish photoperiods in the same time. I used to veg for 4 weeks, flower for 8, and that put me in around 85 days. Right smack dab in the middle of your average auto grow. If my chance there’s issues in Veg you can wait to flip, that’s a huge advantage.
