⛳ Calcium, Magnesium, and Sulfur, the Secondary Elements After the macroelements, the secondary elements are those that plants need in larger quantities throughout the entire growing process. Of the three, Calcium and Magnesium are the most important, crucial for the perfect development of the plants, and they must always maintain a balance between the two. Calcium Deficiency, Excess, and Blockage In outdoor soil cultivation, it's not very common, as Calcium is usually present in large amounts in the soil. However, in hydroponic, aeroponic, or even coconut fiber cultivation, it's quite common, in addition to land cultivation where it's watered with soft or osmosis water. Calcium deficiency manifests in the upper shoots, as it is an immobile element and cannot be transported by the plant. You can see how the new leaves become deformed, smaller than usual, and have a lighter or yellowish color. This deficiency can be corrected by adding Calcium as a mono-element, mixing tap water with osmosis water in subsequent flushes, or adding a Calcium/Magnesium solution like Calmag from Biobizz, Canna, or Atami. It's best to use one of these commercial products that have a balanced distribution between Calcium and Magnesium. Remember that both elements must always be kept in balance. Excess Calcium manifests as a deficiency of other nutrients like Magnesium, Potassium, Iron, and Manganese, although the most obvious ones are usually the first two. Magnesium Deficiency, Excess, and Blockage Magnesium deficiency is one of the most typical in cannabis cultivation, as this intermediate element is needed in large quantities, and there are several factors that can prevent its proper absorption. One of the reasons for Magnesium deficiency is an inadequate pH level, but in many cases, the problem lies in too high humidity or low temperature in the substrate. Magnesium is a mobile element in the plant, so it can be transported from the reserves in the leaves to the new shoots. The lack of this element shows up in the oldest leaves, usually in the middle and lower part of the plant, which begin to turn yellow between the veins and in some cases, the edges curl upwards. An excess of Magnesium causes toxicity that can significantly reduce overall production if not treated in time, but it also brings about the blockage of other nutrients like Calcium. Fortunately, it is usually not very common, and the solution is also simple, as Magnesium can be easily leached out, allowing it to be resolved by lightly washing the roots. A Magnesium blockage usually occurs due to excess Calcium, especially in cultivations that are watered with tap water. To a lesser extent, it can also be caused by an excess of Potassium or Hydrogen, but with special substrates and fertilizers for cannabis, it is difficult to cause the blockage.

They are showing cal mag deficiency, and nitrogen deficiency. Calcium is rust on leaves, the strips in leaves is magnesium, red stems is magnesium as well. And yellowing from bottom working its way up is nitrogen deficiency.
