Nitrogen toxicity mid-flower

SilverSlapdick
SilverSlapdickstarted grow question 2 years ago
So I overfed during veg and now my plant has nitrogen toxicity. Besides making leaves super dark, crunchy, and yellow it has also made my buds pistils curl and brown way too early. I’ve been flushing often with water. Is she a lost cause or should I ride it out for 4 more weeks?

Its worth saving, flushing is vital. Good job on getting onto it quick. Give her one final flush that 2X the volume of pot, so if its a 5 gallon pot, use 10 gallons of water, unless you have already done that or something similar, and then get back on the trace elements nutes ASAP. She also needs potassium badly. Basically half (50%) strength bloom/flower nutes with full strength trace elements mix, Cal mag will do if thats all u got, but a full trace element mix be better and more effective. And just feed her once a week with that combo for a few weeks.

Try adding in some magnesium as well to help it out. Dry amendments tend to be a little bit lacking in that element. Good Luck!

Best you can do is apply a potassium and phosphorus with very light nitrogen feed. Plant is still using some nitrogen.

Just ride it out, too late to fix any problems now, unfortunately. Had you asked this question 2-3 weekss ago when symptoms were first appearing, there may have been hope. Were you watering to run off each time? If not, this can lead to nutrient salts building up to toxic levels in your substrate and causing the burning of which you ask about. She also looks to be suffering from a lack of trace elements, iron mainly, which can be locked up with a too high or too low pH. In future giving you plant a dose of soluble trace elements (available at any garden centre) every 4 weeks or so will pay big dividends in overall plant health and even giving too much won't harm your plants, they will only take what they need. Also adding some soil mycorrhizae, if you aren't using any at this stage, will really benefit your plants in future grows, they are an amazing addition and I highly recommend their use. I use "Mykos" from Xtreme Gardening, but there are others, like Great White Shark. Mycorrhizae really are a wonder ingredient and should be compulsory for any cannabis grow! They might seeem a bit pricey, but you don't need much, and the results are worth every single cent! Also, when growing autos, half to three quarters strength nutrients is usually more than strong enough - another thing to consider for future grows. Hope this helps, Organoman.

Looks like you might have more than 1 deficiency going on have you tested the ph of the run off?? Might be worth it as could be nutrient lock out But no don't give up on her she is worth trying to save definitely 🙏💚
