3 of the plants hermied ~6-7 weeks into flower, but in Crop Kings defense I put them under a fair amount of stress. Fortunately I found very few seeds in the flowers and even the ones I found were tiny and not fully developed. The buds are dense, sticky, purple, smell amazing, and it produced well in terms of total yield. Drying and Curing: I was completely guessing, but I wound up drying them for the perfect length of time. By the time I had them trimmed and in the jars they were crunchy on the outside, and over the next week they never clumped up or stuck together when I shook the jars and the humidity in the jars never went below 57%, or above 67%. I emptied all the jars out a couple times in order to mix the higher and lower humidity flowers before putting them back in jars. Since the end of the 2nd week of curing, the RH in all the jars has stabilized between 61% & 64%. Smell: The smell of the flowers has continued to improve and gain complexity. At first they smelled like gas and literally singed your nostrils. Now they still smell a little like gas, but its mellowed enough that the smell of pine has started coming through. Taste: The taste when smoking is faintly but distinctly blueberry. The aftertaste is minty with a subtle charred chocolate flavor. Very nice and I'm looking forward to seeing how the flavor develops as the cure continues. Effects: Came on fast and strong and so I only made it halfway through the joint before tapping out because I was already stoned to the bejesus belt. The mental effects were clear and creative, but wore off after an hour or so. The physical effect was a euphoric relaxation that melted away aches and pains. 3 hours after smoking I laid down in bed and melted into my mattress before quickly drifting off to a deep 8 hours of sleep. Very nice effects but with my relatively low tolerance I will be sticking to the vaporizer unless I have a friend around to help me smoke an entire joint.

Reviews. Nutrient
Solid. Seemed to work great when used as a foliar spray. Magnesium deficiency cleared up after a 3 applications over a week or so.
I had some of the Micro/Grow/Bloom left over from my previous run and so I finished them up, but I wouldn't buy again. I really don't like that the pH Perfect buffers make it more difficult to adjust and stabilize the PH if you want/need to. Flawless Finish may be a scam for all I know but I had it leftover from my previous run and it definitely didn't hurt the first time I used it. My buds taste and burn clean. I'll do a comparison on my next grow with a plain water flush to see if I can tell a difference.
Decided to give GHE a shot because I've seen positive reviews from numerous growers with experience and knowledge. Also I wanted an easier time achieving the ratios in the recipe I found here: https://www.cocoforcannabis.com/mixnutes/
This stuff worked great in my last run and I used it a lot. This run I only used it a couple times between reservoir changes because I was using hydrogen peroxide in my reservoir which I believe kills the beneficial microbes, and so I didn't see the point.
Worked incredibly well as a surfactant for foliar feeding. From what I've read the upside is that there's no impact to PH like you get with dawn dishsoap.
I actually used pupinator, but same manufacturer and there isn't an option for purpinator. First time growing this strain and so I'm not sure how much of a difference it made, but my buds are super frosty, smell incredible, and there was a lot of purple hues in the leaves and flowers at harvest.
Reviews. Lamp
I think there a much better options in this price range at this point. But it was my first light and it does decent job in my 3x3 tent.
I think this is far too much light for a 4x4 tent without supplemental Co2. However, it’s an incredible light and I’m really looking forward to what it can do in a 5x5 sealed room with Co2.
Reviews. Tent
Second grow and it has at least a dozen pin hole light leaks. It economical and can get the job done but after getting hermies I wish I’d splurged on a higher quality tent like a Gorillla.

Final Numbers AAA nugs = 312 grams Mid Grade, Larf, and Sugar Leaves = 736 grams Total Yield = 1048g Curing the AAA nugs, and my friend is still working on machining a larger chamber for his supercritical co2 extraction rig. Excited to see how much oil we will be able to yield from the 736 grams. A few lessons learned this run. Overwatering. As seedlings and especially after transplanting to the final 5 Gallon containers, I over watered the plants. Following a high frequency fertigation regimen with an 80:20 coco:perlite ratio in 5 Gallon fabric pots was a mistake. I don’t think there's anything wrong with that ratio, and I’m sure I could’ve avoided overeating issues by a) using either 3 gallon fabric pots or 5 gallon equivalent airpots as my final containers, or b) fertigating a lot less often until the roots had fully colonized the containers. However I will be trying a 50:50 coco:perlite ratio in 5 gallon airpots next time. The automatic watering system, self draining saucers, and auto pumping catchment bucket allow for as many feedings/day as you want, so next time I’ll experiment with a lighter medium and faster drying containers. Light Stress. This Gavita is extremely powerful and at full power it puts out far too much light for plants in veg, and once the plants had stretched to their full height the tallest colas were only 14 inches from the light which meant they were getting ~1200 PPFD. I’ve been told that anything over 1000 PPFD, without supplemental Co2, will cause photo protection responses in cannabis plants, and then if that is insufficient they will enter photo-inhibition which dramatically slows photosynthesis. Had I bought the adapter and controller I could have dimmed it down as much as 50% and I think I had enough height in the tent to dial in the proper intensity for atmospheric Co2 levels. However, I bought the light knowing it might be too strong hoping I could get away with it because for my next run I plan to build a sealed room and run supplemental Co2 to take full advantage of this light. Training. I learned a lot during this run simply by trying so many new techniques for the first time and making a lot of mistakes. I snapped off a quadrant, almost snapped off another, and I split the stems on both sides of the strongest pheno’s manifold. Also, If I could do it over again I would have pruned the side branching more aggressively after I had finished training the 8 mains, and I would have defoliated more aggressively 3 weeks into 12-12. I’m guessing that would have resulted in a lower yield overall, but a much higher percentage of that yield would have been top shelf quality. Thanks for following along. Until next time, stay frosty!

The leaves (pictured with weird wrinkles and crispy edges) are showing some form of stress. Theory is that they were dehydrated from the overly salty medium, but I'd love to hear from a more experienced coco grower about if and how I should intervene to alleviate the stress.

From my experience that leaf edge curling upwards means wrong VPD (temp/humidity ratio) So you have too high temps or too low humidity for this setup and changing either one should correct this. Can be also some other stress but usually its the vpd

Inflow EC=1333 w/ PH=5.8 vs Runoff EC=658 w/ PH=6.0. Insufficient nutes due to light intensity? Perhaps my PH meter is inaccurate? Light is 42 inches from canopy or ~600 PPFD. RH 65%, Temp 80 F.

everyone says 5.5-6.0, but unless your fertilizer says so, you should more likely stick to 6-6.5.

As you can see, one of my plants is a few inches taller than the others. They've all been topped 3 times for 8 mains, but I'm wondering whether I should top the big plant 1 more time in an effort to achieve a more uniform canopy height before flipping to 12-12.

What you can do to slow those tops down is to cut off the leaves just below the new growing tips, the one's that are already spread.. take one for minimal slowing or both for more.. it won't really shock the plant so much as slow it down a bit. Or you could just lst them out and tie them down or even just supercrop them by almost snapping them so they sag down they will heal back and be a bit more spread out! Cheers Happy growing!

I've been feeding 3 times/day at an EC = 1300 and PH = 6.2. Runoff this morning was ~700 on average. The plants appear to be happy but I'm worried that I'm underfeeding them and its slowing down growth. Should I increase EC? Should I start feeding more often?

The plants look happy, so if you make changes, make them slowly. Your run-off EC being that much lower than your inflow is kind of weird. A walk up of EC by maybe 50 or 100 points every few days shouldn't be too harmful - but be ready to back down at the first sign of leaf edges crisping. The difference between them from week 8 to 9 is just marvelous!

I’ve read a lot of conflicting opinions these last few days regarding defoliation/plucking/pruning. Today is day 21 of 12/12 and my only goal is to prevent white powdery mildew. How many leaves would you take off? RH overnight spikes into the high 70’s if the dehumidifier is off

Yes sir.. sure looks like it.. Banana protrusions are unpredictable, and it can appear even in the most ideal settings. Sadly, it could also start fertilizing females. A few nanners would not cause much damage. However, if there are plenty, consider an early harvest to cut losses and prevent the flowers from forming seeds. You could try plucking the one's you see but you also run the risk of spreading it more. If it's just one plant I'd suggest removing it from the others if possible.. 👊

@BloodSweatBeers, big time. 5 months of care and attention only to wind up with 2 of the 5 plants go hermie on the home stretch. Learning experience though. Won't be messing around with anything but proven top shelf genetics from now on.

@grzesiekkuzniak, thank you sir. Have been finding a few seeds here and there from the 2 nanners I found last week. So I've decided to start the flush as soon as the solution I currently have in the reservoir has been depleted. l'll be harvesting a bit earlier than I had hoped but better than letting the problem spread. Cheers.

For your nutes was that for every water? Or did you occasionally use just water
MediciGrade

@BloodSweatBeers, I feed 5 times every day at the nutrient ratios and EC levels noted. If you want to learn about the science behind high frequency fertigation this is a great resource: https://www.cocoforcannabis.com/principles-fertigation-feed-water-cannabis-coco/
