Like the title says. Is it a calmag def? Having some pH problems inthe RDWC and have some symptoms. Changing the water tomorrow. They seem to be doing well for 3 days after a water change. Then pH drops and they seem to stop growing

PSA let’s separate cal from mag when referring to it. They are separate elements, separate mechanisms of action in the plant, separate symptoms in the plant. You can have calcium deficiency You can have magnesium deficiency You can have calcium and magnesium deficiency simultaneously. You cannot have a calmag deficiency. It’s like asking if you have a protein/carb deficiency as a human. Totally different things. That is all - thank you

Nutrients have a shelf life of 2-3yrs upon opening. If you set your PH at 5. It'll give you more of a window before you have to adjust. If your plant is having difficulty taking in the likes of mag. You can give a foliar spray. I use 250ppm (110ppm ambient tap) so whatever yours is, add a 100-150 to your value and spray the leafs off your girl every 2 days until you see a change. "Be sure if you've strong lights, to turn them down, the leafs will dry up within 30m" You can also add Epsom Salt to your Hydro water. Most ppl tend to jst use a cal mag. I like to use either a cal powder r mag for either issue. It helps the plant just focus on sole nute. It is down to your PH as the sides that are sticking up, are early signs of PH imbalance.

Hello, can you give me little information and I will tell you what to do. Did they drink water, did the water level go down, how about EC go down or up? And your PH goes up? If they drink water and EC PH goes up then you need to lower EC by 0,2

Hey Creepy Steve I think the pH is dropping because of bio stuff in the water. I had maggots in my roots on the previous run. I cleaned everything without disassembling the RDWC and still get some black stuff in my mesh filters now. I hope that's it. After a water change, pH rises a little, and then it drops again. It could also be that the nutes are expired? They are around 6 months now

get teh ph issues in line first before reacting... that could be the reason. you go much below 5,8 and you will run into issues with Ca among other things. if your ph drifts often, it's a manufacturer's mistake.. hydro nutes should be ph-buffered. this means they will be very resistant to ph swings. it's not difficult to accomplish, so if they don't do it, it is a sign of incompetency.
