Stem and main branch thickness

I’ve noticed my stems aren’t so thick this is my second grow and I was wondering if there’s a technique or nutrient I could give my plant for thicker stem growth.I did defoliate a lot but I noticed more experienced growers have bushy plants. How can I achieve this?

U are flipping too early. With too many low nodes sapping up energy. You need to define your shape. And stem thickness really is all about energy and how you direct it. If there's too many points that draw in energy you get thin leggy plants. Also the plant is FAR from scrog ready. You need 70-75% of your net covered before you flip. Nodes needs to be weaved and through and attached to the net then flip and train through. Also your Burple isn't helping. They really are old leds. Not great. You need strong blues. But, here's a few thing you can do. Your plants look leggy. Move your light closer or increase your ppfd. Also silica will help this and strong air makes for stronger stems that leads to helping build a better thickness of ur stems..

Stop defoliating..........less leaves = less energy being made = less growth potential. Defoliation is wrong on so many levels in my opinion. More leaves = more energy being made = more and bigger growth. If your plant would not need those leaves, it would not grow them in the first place!

genetics.. could be light related but your internode length doesn't seem long to me (top portion where buds will develop). so, it is probably getting dececnt light.

You over defoliated, do this less and it will equal bushier plants. Less leaves = less energy = less growth. Only needed to increase airflow and light penetration. Add in air movment to help thicken up the stems, the movement of air is like weightlifting for plants and will help em thicken up. Don't point the fan directly on it if its static. oscillating is best and can be pointed towards plant if needed. Good Luck!
