How many plants for my space

ZigkGrow
ZigkGrowstarted grow question 7 months ago
Hello guys I've got spiderfarmer's SF1000 and I had 7 grows with 1 plant in my tent 60x60x180cm. Thinking if it's worth it trying more plants with smaller pots. Any opinions on that? All my grows been different on harvest and time. What pot size and how many would you recommend?

You can could either grow 1 in a larger 15 or 20l pot or 2 in half the size. You have to account for your height in the tent and how long the plants will take to grow. If growing multiple and having a tall tent, you can grow them basically vertical with one round of LST at node 4 or 5. Thus causing them to be almost Christmas trees but more even canopy. Causing them to get closer to light and having few but long hard dense buds. You could grow 2 or 3 plants, but do many rounds of LST to fill in the grow space like the SOG method.. you don't even need a trellis net just filling the space with plant material works. Doing this makes the grow longer, the plants stay shorts and you have more buds but less in size. They are more prone to being fluffy if you don't lollypop well. It's all about timing, how quick do you need it. If needed fast, I would do 2 plants and let them grow vertical except for one or two small lst around node 4 or 5. Letting them be almost natural and finishing faster. Or the opposite, bushing them out to fill the grow and getting more uniform buds but smaller in size and adding 1 to 2 weeks onto the grow. Goodluck and please consider me as the answer to the question so I can be eligible to enter for a chance to win grower of the month contest. 🙏 please and thanks 😊

1 auto in 15l pot, 2 in 7l or 2 in 15 and you cut one if you don't have space. :)

50g is just over 1.5oz and that's not bad considering the fact that you have a 100w light If you want to get better yeald then you will have to get a better light

When you choose a smaller pot, you'll end up with a smaller plant that demands more effort, potentially making it less worthwhile. Opting for one large pot and maximizing your tent space with the SCROG method can be a more effective approach

Depends in genetics and potsize One plant in 30 l 2 in 15 l 4 in 5l Or more If you do s SEA of Green. Depends in your technics and Skill. You can grow s Lot in small spaces. If you start new in growing, i would Go with 2 plants in 11 to 15 l and peform some LST on them

3 gallon SOG style. Quit messing with autos if you want consistency. You fit one plant in every 30cmx30cm

Potter depends on substrate you use. Lighter the substrate, coco, perlite etc. The bigger they will grow if maintained correctly. You want to go with what your final plant size is going to be approximately. I use a sf 1000 but I only have it on 1 plant. I would look into a bigger light in near future. Plus what you are trying to accomplish. Like a sea of green you would do a bunch of smaller potters. If your growing bigger plants long term then less potters and plants. Things to decide and think about.

btw quality is genetics... that won't change. either you have good plants or you don't. there's no product that polishes a turd.

i wouldn't go less than 2-3 gallon, because even 12/12 from germination will take 3 months or so. more plants, more chance your plants don't finish on same schedule too, unless using clone of 1 plant. More work with more pots... more transplants more watering time, etc. not quite a 1:1 increase, but still more effort. there's plenty of reason to do it too. you'll shave off vege time, which saves electricity, which is by far the single greatest cost to growing. less time growing = less risk in a general sense. probably never have to worry about supporting the plants, since they'll be smallish and hold their own weight. if yo do a ton of plants, do 12/12 from planting. it'll vege for a couple weeks like an auto does, then start transitioning shortly after that. i don't know how much space you can expect.. maybe 1' x 1' per plant? then divy up space based on that. i would keep it symmetrical so that you don't have to spend much effort shaping plants. so 2x2 (4) or 3x3 (9) or 4x4 plants (16). sf1000 is 100w? so maybe 4 small plants 12/12 from seed. looks like it should be fine for a 60x60 over 12hours. whether it is worth it is personal preference.. you'll figure it out.

I wanna add that I care for quality, speed and quantity. The most I've made from 1 grow was 170g with hydro but it was extremely time consuming and the plant wasn't the healthiest I've grown. On average I would say I am on 50g per grow. I've tried different techniques on each grow, different strains and different pot sized/substrates so I still dont know exactly what is ideal for my space and my needs. I am sure that I want to use soil but I dont know what is the best case for me. My thoughts are : Scenario1: One plant 15lt pot without anything (taking in account time and attention for lst and such) which i've done before Scenario2: One plant 20l pot without anything/with lst (never grown on 20l pot) Scenario 3: 2 plants on 10l pots with/or without lst Scenario 4: 4plants on 8-10l pots without lst Any advice is much appreciated!
