yea.. same position on plant is 1 node. 1 knuckle. as the plant matures it will have asymmetrical growth and they will stagger along stem instead of paired.

one node is one node, what grows out of said nodes is its own thing. Sometimes you can get 3 at one node. The definition helps clarify. Node- Botany the part of a plant stem from which one or more leaves emerge, often forming a slight swelling or knob. Good Luck!
