When plating basil as a guardian plant should I cut the flowers? I worry that it will affect in some way or that the basil will die.

From my perspective guardian plants tend to not do much indoors, a lot of their beneficial effects come from the other predators they attract, they also form some relationships in the medium at the roots but indoors in a separate pot with no predators its not doing much for cannabis but will make some tasty pesto. If you have not tried eating the basil flowers do try them, they are sweet and floral. one of the things I like snacking on in my garden. cut the flower stems to try and slow the bolting "flowering", but the flowers will grow again, the warm temps in the tent will cause this to happen sooner then later. Once the plant blots the leaves flavour and texture does change a bit. not as good, but still usable. Good Luck!

You can cut the flowers from basil plants multiple times without affecting the health or vigor of the basil plants. I have done so for years.
