What Pot Size for my next Grow. 80x80cm Tent Size, currently using 11L fabric Pots, not happy with size of plants and fear less yield

Currently using 11L fabric Pots and with around 7 weeks of Veg the plants aren't bigger then 80cm after stretch. I plan to buy 20L fabric Pots for the next run, sizewise they would fit, but i don't know if it's a good idea, i mean i don't have to fill them 100%. What would yo do?

11L is fine for a plant with limited vege time or an autoflower. You can look after a grow and assess the rootball and roots... is it wrapped around the outside of medium in a severe way? should have some limited amount of that after 3months or more, but if extreme that's a sign of the pot being too small. Fabric pots will mitigate this longer with air pruning occurring. Rootbound plants are obvious. You give them a formula that works well and they will start to struggle with leaf symptoms that you can't control with any adjustments. a soilless/hydro nutrient line would help in this regard, but only for so long. it too will run into the same problems just as fabric pots will evenetually, too. faster growth will occur with a soilless/hydro method, if not doing that now. will get more growth in same amount of time... or same growth in less time. depends on your goals. Without the need for microbes and such to make certain nutrients plant-available, you can more easily feed a plant more efficiently relative to its growth rate, so you typically gain in that regard, if done right. Going over-sized can be a problem too.. extra waste and potentially extend the time between irrigations too long if the plant can't drink fast enough relative to the size of the pot, which isn't good for the chemistry of the medium as well as a vector for disease. 1month per cubic foot pot size... or 1 gallon per foot of height are general suggestions that are repeated and seem to work okay. I've grown plenty of large plants in a 3-gal.. it's not all the pot's fault. If in soil or any other number of factors... vege time being the easiest thing to change for a photoperiod, and just one more reason never to buy autoflowers, lol.

30 liters are minimum for me in soil , mostly for autos. If i veg photo 4-5 weeks, its only 40 liters, sometimes i go with 50 even. I would do one nice photo girl or two autos in your space. Good luck ! P.s. fabrics are nice, but invest into 30 liters aero pots once and be happy for rest of growing.

Thanks guys, yes i guess i will have to wait and see what kind of yield i get at the end and how the roots look and then decide if im happy or not and what to do. I just thought bigger pots = better for organic grow + more yield. But if i want longer Veg time then 2 Months i guess a larger pot would make sense? I don't got a problem with longer times at all, as long as the end result is the best i can do and not wasted because off stupid beginner mistakes. I would have waited with the flip on the current run, but i have read everywhere that the plant will double or even tripple in size so i panicked a little bit, but in the end i had still so much space since it didn't stretch that much at all. so i could have waited at least 2-3-4 more Weeks. I guess they didn't stretch that much because of topping and scrogging? I got the feeling there is a lot of wasted space, not only on top of the tent, but also on the sides and the middle of the canopy.

If you want bigger plants, use a bigger pot and veg them longer. A 11L is usually fine for decent size plants.

also, i think if you flipped at week 5 or 6, it would have filled in that canopy too. flower times will always be ~2 months.. even with an auto, fi you try them. People miscalculate flower times on autos because tehy go based on what is visible, and that stuff started growing 10-14 dayas prior. it's not a 'different' plant. it takes just as long but is triggered differently. so 3-4 months is going to be normal. you should be able to grow a 200g plant with 35-42 days of vege. Genetics of plants do play a role.. some are runts. Plant 125-150% of what you need and kill the weak. you'll have more consistent productivity, if that is your primary concern.

i checked your report and i saw no issues with the pot size or so, u doing great btw. I don’t think 20l will change much. U can try to main-line them next grow to get fattier colas. https://www.growweedeasy.com/manifold happy xmas!

I want maximum yield and just to get the maximum out of my tent, im not happy with 11L pots since the plants are too small and i fear that they will be root bound in the next weeks. I got long veg times like 2 months and long flowering times, also around 2 months. In total more like 4-5 months. With enough training and scrogging size shouldn't be a problem at all, as i can see right now. Also i grow organic and think bigger will be better then? Do you think 20l fabric pots would be fine for my 80x80cm tent? They will fit with enough space around them, it will be tight but i think i could still handle it. I just want the best out of my setup without getting problems, and not wasting another run because of wrong decisions. When googling it i see many people say don't get 20L but then others say it will be just fine. What problems could i get?
