Starting to Hermie?

Beowulf_II
Beowulf_IIstarted grow question 5 years ago
Are these male sacs forming around the buds? Harvesting my LowRyder II, fem, auto flower after 9 weeks or so (first grow). Wasn't sure if I was harvesting too early, too late, or somewhere in between. What are those balls, never noticed them before?

I don't see anything weird, I think you are just referring to the female flowers that have lost their pistils. To determine when is the best moment to harvest your plants you need to check their trichomes. Check out this article, hope it helps: https://www.growbarato.net/blog/en/when-to-harvest-marijuana/

pistils are brown and dying means the plant is mature enough to harvest.nothing to do with seeds. Usually there is a crack on callyx's surface and you see the seed when it is pollinated.this is a female organ.no worries. single callyxes around stem look always like this when plant is done, very short, almost no pistils in those. don't you see the same on your plants bro?

I'm sorry man, this is a seeding and it will not stop. Though I agree with some people here that it might just be swollen calyxs', there's a tell tale sign it's a seed before even opening one up (which you also should do, to ensure it is, in fact a full seeding). The pistils coming from the calyx are brown and dying off. This is a sign that the pistils have done their job and the plant is now creating seeds and not buds to catch pollen. If they were still very healthy white and multiplying it would probably be a swollen female, but the dying off of these pistils is a bad sign 🙁 I really hope I'm wrong, actually. I wish you luck my friend with whatever course of action you take from here🙂

I agree with Highroller 909 100%. if you want, you can open such a callyxe with a knife, then you see that there are no seeds in it

Hi Boewulf_II So Sorry to say but unfortunately yes. If you have other plants in the same room they will get pollinated remove far away from other female plants. Autoflowers are ready between week 9 and 13 really depending on strain. You probably harvested a little to (2 weeks) early, last week off flower is when buds rip-pen most. Good luck Happy Growing

those are not male sacs, they are callyxes. they gather and create buds :) you can see single callyxes around the stem,it is normal
