When to lower light intensity?

Finniegrow
Finniegrowstarted grow question 4 months ago
When is the right time to lower light intensity? I'm on 5th week of flowering, should I keep my lights on max or reduce the power/increase the distance to plants? I have around 1000W of Led's at 35-60cm distance from the tops. I see no burning/bleaching or anything like that.

In flowering, you want max light........I can not think of any reason why reducing light intensity would be beneficial in any way. Keep doing what you are doing and don't change a thing.

I don't see how you have around 1000watts??, the light in your diary HLG 350R is listed at 330W max at 100% no dim, and if there's is two of them it's still only 660watts?? Where is the other 340watts to equal 1000?.... Calculate your DLI and work off of that. If you have PPFD maps its a bit easier to do, your lights manufacture should have some available for different hang heights. maybe not dim levels but they might can't hurt to ask them..... I agree with others, give as much light as possible without causing damage. normally this is between 35-40 DLI.... Good Luck!

lower? crazy talk. Maintain as much as you can give without causing damage. Light powers growth. less light = less growth. ripening is "growth", maybe, in extreme contexts of out of whack environmental variables you might find a situation or two that would benefit from less light at some stage near end.. but that's self-inficted. sometimes a bit too much light takes weeks to show a hint of damage.. if you see blearching or light damage on leaves, that's a good reason to reduce it.

En los ultimos 10 dias puedes bajar la luz para ir motivando la senescencia en las plantas, si lo mides por PPFD debes darles 600-700 ppfd bajando el dimmer o disminuir el horario de luz a 11 horas máximo.

Huh, of course u lower ur light during flowering. When u are in ur last 10-14 days (ripening) a plant doesn't need lots of energy (light) as the plant has expanded its energy building bud. Hard work is done. When buds are hard-shell and no more fattening turn it down so it sits at 6-700

Keep them where they are at until around week 7. Then drop your intensity down to 75% and knock off one hour of light.

Seguramente si Descárgate la App "PHOTONE" en tu Smartphone, configura la App para una luz de espectro completo (o la que corresponda) y mide la luz justo a la altura de la parte más alta de la planta No será un valor perfectamente exacto, pero si que te dirá si estás o no dentro del rango deseado Como con los nutrientes, más luz NO es igual a planta más grande o que crece más rápido. i personally from week 6-7 if plants were healthy , drop lights to 30 cm and blast all i can if coverage not compromised. never decreased, just max output on last days, ussually dont stress even if i see burn or heat stress at that time. i smoke buds, not nice or damaged leaves ;) in my current setup i am limited to height, so all diferent, but with space i was doing, like wrote before. nice garden !
