Grow tent cooling

Grow tent and room getting too hot. I got a portable AC unit to cool the room. What’s best practice? Cool the entire room or have AC go into tent, not 100% just have cool air pushed towards the tent inlets? Fans will suck the cool air in.

Use a window style ac unit instead a 4000 btu, and have front sit in the tent, back outside the tent all the heat generated will remain outside the tent. Beauty of window style is none of the air in the tent leaves the tent upon cooling. The condensation thay is created from temperature difference is captured, and drained into a filter. This also takes up hardly any space compared to a portable.

I'd pump it right into the top of the tent and have it on a thermostat. Cooling the exterior of the room won't accomplish much because the heat is in the confined space and any passive cool air in take will never keep up with the heat generate4d by the lights. Trust me. In winter i heated the room the tent was in to 34c and inside the tent i could barely keep it above 20c. So 34c in the 10x10 bedroom, and 20c inside the 4x4 tent in the 10x10 bedroom......Will be the same scenario. Pump the a/c air into the top vent hole of the tent and have it controlled by a thermostat in the tent.

Have your lung room cooled as that’s where the tents air is coming from and have your outtake fan ducted elsewhere. Led lights help if not using already.

Is the tent sealed? if not you have to control climate of the entire room. if you have it sealed and producing / supplementing co2 in there, if the ac fits, sure... might be better than cooling the whole room. Insulation around tent would help. otherwise you have an extractor fan pulling out a volume of air equal to the entire tent every 1-3 minutes depending on how hard you got the fan running. It won't make 1 difference.. well maybe 1-2 degrees but the AC is going to run just as hard as it would outside the tent. close that room up.. that'll help.. and i assume th ehot air from AC exhaust is going outside or else it'll be a very inefficient space heater, LOL.
