It's not normal to smell piss without organic nutrients especially if the water input doesn't smell like piss. Could mean that you have some roots rot , the smell makes me think that your roots rot is more than a few days old. Someone mentioned hydroguard which is a good option. I would have had enzymes with the next feeding to break down the rotten roots or some hydrogen peroxide ( I'm not 100% sure about the last one so google search it to confirm ). If it's a roots rot you'll need to find why your roots are not doing good. You mentioned an homemade hydrobucket with coco medium in it and even if it's hard to believe : plants in coco medium an be overwatered which could lead to issues on the roots so maybe you should reduce tbd watering frequency and settle a dry/wet cycle

2 tsp per gallon of 3% hydrogen peroxide will kill any funky stuff growing in your root zone with the added benefit of adding oxygen to your coco as it breaks down. I would also make sure you have proper drainage and if you are using organic feed then I would switch to chemical fertilizers. There are a few exceptions, but as a general rule...hydroponics and organics don't mix. Good luck getting it back on track!

I am totally on board with what @Spinnnn said. I just wanna add that in hydro optimum drainage is the key. I'm really surprised it's made it this fair. Your coco and perlite must have been very clean to begin with. Good hydro medium drain of water basically just as fast you pour it in..

Tbh I would add hydro guard to make sure your root zone is nice and safe. Bad smelling water could lead to root zone problems. Get some hydro guard and remove the worry bro. Lovely looking setup and grow so far bro 👌🏻

Hey! You should check the smell when you prepare the solution, since the final smell (after drainage) should be similar. Maybe you have a rotten roots problem, you can use enzymes to solve it (since it will help to get raid of that rotten roots). You can use a lot of different enzymes, but I prefer the ones that come from Plagron.
