Red wavelengths will reduce branching, very slightly. It's not going to make your yield bigger. That is mostly about DLI. if giving 35-40 DLI in ambient co2 conditions, you'll reach 50g/sq ft when doing everything right. can some genetics do better, maybe, but it's a solid goal for most decent plants.
I used to worry about my 'newer' 3400K lights. I was using DIY 2900K lights before that. I have seen no difference under other of them in 3 years of comparison so far. I know i've grown the same strain under each and they come out as expected. NEver tried compaingn clones, but if it's not easily noticeable it's not something to fret about. I had buyer's remorse initially, but since then all those worries were totally unwarranted. People have strong opinons on this stuff, but without any data to back it up i'd be skeptical.
