Bud harvesting

Hello 🤗 growers. So I'm in the last 2 weeks of my growing...I would like to ask is it possible to harvest first top buds and example 3-5 days under conopy buds. Because all we know that all buds do not are ready at the same time. I upload some photos of underconopy buds!

Hi, Flower is in the final two weeks of their grow and is considering harvesting the top buds first and then the under-canopy buds a few days later. This is because they understand that not all buds mature at the same time. Maturity Assessment: Trichome Development: The most reliable indicator of bud maturity is the color of the trichomes (tiny, resin-producing glands on the buds). Clear trichomes: Early stage, not ready. Cloudy trichomes: Optimal THC levels, ideal for harvesting.   Amber trichomes: THC has started to degrade into CBN, may affect potency and create a more sedative effect. Pistil Color: The pistils (hair-like structures) change color from white to orange or brown as they mature. However, this is less reliable than trichome color.   Harvesting Top Buds First: Potential Advantages: Reduced Risk of Over-Ripening: Top buds tend to mature slightly faster due to their exposure to light and air. Harvesting them first can prevent over-ripening and potential degradation of THC. Improved Airflow: Removing the top buds can improve airflow to the lower canopy, potentially allowing the remaining buds to mature more evenly. Potential Disadvantages: Increased Risk of Mold: Harvesting top buds can expose the lower canopy to more light and heat, potentially increasing the risk of mold and bud rot. Uneven Maturation: If the difference in maturity between top and lower buds is significant, harvesting separately may not be ideal. Practical Considerations: Time and Effort: Harvesting in multiple stages requires more time and effort. Storage: Harvested buds need to be stored correctly to prevent degradation. Storing different batches separately may be necessary.   Recommendations for the Grower: Assess Trichome Color: Use a magnifying glass to closely examine the trichomes on both top and lower buds. Consider the Maturity Difference: If the difference in trichome color is minimal, harvesting all buds at once might be preferable. Improve Airflow: If harvesting separately, ensure adequate airflow to the remaining buds to minimize the risk of mold. Storage: Store harvested buds in airtight containers in a cool, dark place to preserve their quality. Additional Tips: Take Pictures: Documenting the trichome development with photos can help track maturity progress. Consult with Experienced Growers: Seek advice from experienced growers who have dealt with similar situations. I hope this information helps? Good luck buddy.

You can harvest the plant in as many stages as you want. Lower buds never mature at the same rate. You can help the bottom buds mature faster by adding side lighting and/or under canopy lighting during flower. Makes a big difference, no more immature popcorn buds!

Sure in fact this year i had a bushy plant like 70 porn bush. I took buds as they matured plant actually responded well with the staggered harvest. It definitely seemed as though my lower buds benefited ended up with some of the lower branches getting more energy for growth. Id guess people dont do it often because they dont have the patience or timr or whatever. In summation from my early morning rant. Yes you will see benefit, might not be huge enough if your talking 1000 plants but if your running a few then could be quite nice. Good luck you have some very nice ladies they look yummy

It is definitely possible. Have a look the crops of fellow grower @valiotoro He does it all the time and his crops look amazing in my opinion.

You can harvest in as many stages as desired. I personally just chop all at once. It makes drying more simple and the delay doesn't really make much difference to lower bud quality.

Hey there Great looking plants the stem is so thick and pretty. Yes it is possible to top harvest the top colas from the plant and then let the rest the plant ride out and get more light to the lowers and finish up Although do be carefull it is also possible to stress your plant out from cutting all those buds that ypu will cause lower buds to start forming nanners My suggestion is that if you do cut the colas off early do not let the rest the plant go longer than 7 to 10 days after the 1st harvest. This will not be long enough for nenners to fourm and release pollen. And seeds to start to fourm. I would think 14 days would be long enough for seeds to start to fourm in the lower buds if nanners did fourm. Happy growing and be confident sont stress out and worry I see the plant you grew you have growing skill I'm sure whatever you do it will turn out nice Also if you cut the top colas I would make sure to not cut more that 50% of the entire plant away anymore might cause the plant to start dying or reveg possibly

I find they catch up in cure and partial harvests are just annoying and time consumeing. chop the whole plant as is and hang it up to dry when done. But you 100% can do top then lower if you want.
