What is the risk to apply HS training(Topping Defoliation) to the strain for which LST/SCRoG is recommended?

I am growing Auto Black Opium(Divine Seeds). The description says SCROG and LST work good. I started bending it recently and did 1 time topping earlier. I feel I need to do some defoliation, but it will be 2nd HS technique, which contradicts the recommendations. Should I?

Hi @Chimken automatics detest stress, before you start defoliation let it recover from the stress of topping 7-10 days. start to make the defoliation slowly, a day a little, after 2/3 days do a little more so as not to delay the plant. good luck mate 💪👍🙏

In my opinion you are totally one to do some light defoliation !! We do to our autos! But be gentle and only take a couple at a time so you don’t induce flower!! I grow every plant in 3’s top 1 FIM 1 and the other I just let it go!! The buds from the topping just get huge colas compared to the ones I don’t!! Good luck 👍🍀 on your growing journey

Topping or LST after 1st topping Last week I topped this little baby, the plant now is growing ok. I noticed that not only the two top side branches are growing a lot, but that the ones on the node under it too. I would like to make the 4 grow and like that I don't have to top more, is it ok? How can I do it?

When should I defoliate photos in indoor 2x4x6 on day 47 This is my first grow in a 2x4x6. I got carried away and packed it out. im on day 47 for everything. 3 autos, 6 photos. I defoliated autos right before flowering. The question I have is should I let the photos grow a little more before defoliating and or topping?
