How to defoliate/should i defoliate my Wedding Cake Auto and Godzilla cookies auto? Some leafs of my Wedding Cake auto are getting yellowish, as you can see in the picture My Wedding Cake Auto is too close to the LED (she is too tall). What should i do?

Hey growmie, I just realized something after looking at your setup again at first I said just to bend the tall one, but after seeing how much smaller the second plant is, I think a better move would be this: Gently bend the tall Wedding Cake sideways (supercrop + light LST). Then you can lower the LED a bit without burning the big one. This way your smaller Godzilla Cookies gets way more light too, not just stuck in the shade. Result: You protect the tall one from light stress. The little one gets a real chance to bulk up. Better final harvest for both! 🤞🍀♥️

Don't touch it. Leaves = energy.

nope. Defoliation is mostly bro-science as far as doing it just to do it (on schedule without thought) Read "to defoliate or not..." on cocoforcannabis.com. In fact, read all of their guides and articles as you have time. Anytime it contradicts somethign you read in a forum or elsewhere, purge that bro-science from your thoughts, lol. so much anecodote out there is based on nonsense, defoliation is defnitely one of them. There should be an extremely good reason to remove a leaf. Leaves are responsible for multiple functions in the plant beyond just absorbing light. Co2 intake for one, and that is your limiting factor. reducing co2 intake is almost impossible to overcome with some other benefit from doing so. it's going to be a net-negative removing leaves 99% of the time. This plant is so lanky, it is imopssible to justify. This plant needs more light. It's quite weak and lanky. The node spacing at top is better, but yeah maybe getting slightly too close. Hard to be 100% from a still image. You probably want to keep that light closer than you did this cycle.. really you need to replace it with a proper grow light. You can 'break' the stem to shorten up the plant. Sometimes you need to to weaken it first - roll between fingers to soften a spot on stem, then bend it down without severing the branch. The more rigid/brittle the stem is the greater need for that first step. some you can just bend down without severing the branch. You may need to support it, initially, but after 24-48 hours you'll more likely have to hold it down as it tries to grow upward again. Figure the top portion will bend back upward, so bend it down 5-6" below your target max height. The top 5-6" will bend back upward within a few days. This is quite stressful for the plant, so it's something to avoid, but when you have to do it, you do it. Keeping the light closer or getting a stronger light will cut down on that excessive vertical growth. That will help a bit, if running out of vertical space. May need to top or LST, if it continues to outgrow your space.. or a better space to use is in the cards.

i would not remove one leaf ."defoliation" big word, don't bother yourself with to many technical terms or things you see other more experienced growers do... all you need you need to do is get the lights right and the watering/ feeding correct... all the bending, twisting, cutting and snipping will get you nowhere without the proper living conditions in fact doing anything stressful to a plant that isn't healthy will most likely result in a negative affect there is thousands of hours of grow lessions and tutorials on the web take some time and educate yourself from some experienced growers use there knowledge and become a successful gardener your self... just my two cents worth... happy gardening

You’re doing fine for a first grow, but a few easy tips: Leave the top alone, she’s already stressed from being close to the LED. Try gently bending the tall main stem down with soft ties (LST) if you can – it will lower the height and open the canopy. Keep watering carefully, let the pots dry more between waterings to help the roots. Your Godzilla Cookies looks more balanced – focus on keeping airflow good and light spread even. No pruning now – just small adjustments to help them finish strong!

Hey there great question I’m happy you asked b4 you went to town on your plant I see that mistake a lot The only time you need to defoliate is when your growing in a tent and all the plants are squished in there and there all bushy causing the light not to be able to hit lower parts of the plant Your plant is small and very spaced out there is no need to cut anything off all that will do is cause stress Just focus on light intensity and temps and be aware when the plant is starting to flower it will want a lot of water and then mid flower it will slow down I think you have some good bones to your plant keep with it and don’t cut anything off and you will have some good buds here soon Also read up on drying and curing and harvest make sure to buy everything you need b4 hand Good luck have a good days
