Head of plant and branch hanging down

SkunkyBreeze
SkunkyBreezestarted grow question 9d ago
In the evening, everything looked normal. In the morning, the head of the plant and one branch were hanging down (faced towards the morning sunlight). In the afternoon, everything was back to normal. I did not water in the meantime. Does this indicate a problem?

Might have gotten to warm in the root zone, could have wanted a bit more water. But nothing to crazy. Maybe try spray painting that plasic shell white on the next grow. Plants will follow the sun though the day, this is nothing new and fun to see.

"""Why did I offend anyone at all, if I wrote that the indoors growers don't know that? So their lamp is hanging, it doesn't move anywhere, the plant is always flat, how would they know if they don't work outside or haven't read somewhere? Here, I am the only one being attacked out of pure peace, and whoever wants to argue should get the fuck off and not spoil my peace.""" Funny that you mentioned that when only two growers before you answered already yes? Like I said you have a big mouth lmfa

@Ultraviolet I'm still sure that here only the plant follows the sun and nothing more (I don't know how to express myself professionally, I'm a peasant man), there is no problem here...let the girl take a picture of the plant every 2 hours tomorrow from the same angle and at the end of the day let her post the pictures and let's see who was right, is that okay?

🤡 “Indoor growers obviously don’t know that” 🤡 You could’ve just said, “it’s normal, plants follow the sun”, but nah, you had to turn it into some weird dig at indoor growers. Then when I replied, suddenly I’m the arrogant one? Come on man, I gave a calm, useful answer. You dropped a passive-aggressive statement and now you’re playing the victim because someone called it out? It’s not deep. I’ve been growing indoors and out for over 25 years. If someone asks a question, I answer it properly, I don’t drop riddles and pretend it’s wisdom. Next time try leading with respect. You might get some back.

@DrBud420, Oh, you mean heliotropism and phototropism? Heliotropism and phototropism are not what is happening here; the direction of light directs the direction the plant will seek to face, but the pressure that the plant uses to remain upright comes from turgor/transpiration. Well 90% of it during the day does. If she was drooping in the afternoon, you would need to rewater as it would be a sign water is short, Its not transpiration directly that builds the pressure but the flow of water, called osmosis, as less and less water flows up and through the plant, less and less pressure is possible inside the plant and droop begins. IF the apex has been elongating so fast then suddenly there is not adequate pressure to maintain the structure. Happy growing to ALL!

In the end, it turned out that I was also wrong when I said that the growers inside don't know about it, because apparently the grower inside here gave a more accurate diagnosis than you... you can wipe your ass with those 25 years, you haven't learned anything, and next time you'll find yourself called out again and if nobody called you out directly, you'll have an even better time.

You can see how ultra violet explained briefly, clearly and professionally, and did not cause the man even more trouble, but relaxed him.

Brother, I'm sorry, if I offended you, how could I know? It really wasn't my intention, I just wanted to help and not worry the guy/girl because there is no need to worry, everything is fine with the plant. From your reply I thought you probably do most of the breeding inside because every breeder out there knows what's at stake when they see this, and here you're just being arrogant and complex. It's better that you learned something in those 25 years outside, than you traumatize people (we all know how stressful growing weed is) and give wrong diagnoses.

I'm just looking at your diary and the only mistake you made (I just realized you're female) is that you gave so much nitrogen when the plant went into preflower. I know people panic when it comes to automatics, whether the plant will stretch enough, but if you add nitrogen during that stage or later, the flowers don't develop well, the plant stretches a lot and doesn't branch well, so it's always better to let it extract from the lower leaves as much nitrogen as they need to stretch, and start with flowering fertilizer as soon as they enter preflower.

How erect she is, how much turgor pressure she builds up within her cells from transpiration, it is this pressure that "inflates" the plant like a balloon and gives her rigidity. In order for her to maintain the pressure, she needs the gas exchange from transpiration driven by photosynthesis. No light, no turgor. As the day progresses and photosynthesis kicks in, the turgor builds back up. Due to the nature of your plant's growth, she is growing with high rates of transpiration, promoting cell elongation. Still, until she forms a more solid apex structure, the apex is susceptible to turgor loss. Not really a problem as long as she is healthy.

Brother, everything is fine, there is no reason to worry, the plant bends the sun and that is completely normal, especially when growing on the window... well, whoever planted outside knows how the plant bends the sun, where the sun is, it turns to that side, the sun pulls it... indoor growers obviously don't know that, so how much it scares you, it scares them too ahaha, but don't worry, everything is fine with your plant. Happy Growing!!!

Ps that was my first thought which I deleted.👇 Nothing to worry about growmie. Morning sun can cause quick droop if the roots haven't caught up with transpiration yet. Since she perked up on her own, you're fine. Just keep an eye on soil moisture and maybe shade her a bit if it keeps happening. All good 🤞🍀♥️

Yeah that’s not just sunlight droop, your plant’s structure is super stretchy and underbuilt. It’s likely a mix of weak stem development, too much stretch, and wind/sun exposure. She’s top heavy and lacking support, so any stress (light, temp swing, even breeze) can make her bend or flop temporarily. It bounced back, but that’s a warning. Start: Propping her up or lightly staking. Giving more light if she’s indoors part-time to reduce stretch Letting the topsoil dry a bit deeper before each water. Not a disease, just physics. Good luck with the rest of your grow growmie 🤞🍀♥️

Hey 👋 Never Seen such a thing before ! Limp leaves are usually a sign for under watering … but limp headbud ? Curious if someone has an explanation to what happened ! Nevertheless, be happy she raised her head. Hopefully she’ll keep it up in future. Enjoy growing 👊🍀
