I did make some THC gummy bears last weekend with a recipe from the good old internet. The feeling is great and I did make 20 bears from 5 grams weed. I would like to ask for your favorite recipes and advices for making these edibles so that I can use this for my next batch.

You need to infuse it into a fat or bipolar liquid aka something that dissolves fats and non fats. Alcohol is best option here. With alcohol you can turn it into other things like salt or sugar or w/e you want. it will hit faster and works ok. With fats you body needs to absorb it first and then digest it. Any recipe can work. just substitute the fat in it for infused weed fat. be it butter or oil. Chocolate helps mask the flavor same with other baking spices. Gummy bears are hard to do. the correct water ratios are needed and then they gotta dry out a bit to become shelf stable. cookies i find much easier.

THC that is smoked is not the same as when processed by your kidneys; the THC is converted into 11-hydroxy-THC, a more potent metabolite that contributes to the stronger, longer-lasting effects of edibles. The kicker, though, is that the individual's liver enzyme activity can also vary dramatically. Not everyone has the same enzyme activity; these enzymes are subject to genetic variations. This can significantly affect how individuals metabolize and respond to certain drugs.

I personally do a complex lipid blend, with distinct oils that have varying rates of absorption as a function of time. MCT oil is not optional, it is utterly unique to humans in that it is the only lipid with no need for a carrier to pass the barrier, meaning the cannabinoids delivered via the MCT oil will be entering the liver and then 11hydroxy...on the fastest clock possible (way faster than the other oils). MCT oil solids are finally in acceptable price ranges. Another trick is to use different degrees of decarbed oil for a more broad spectrum. For example, partition your input into multiple subsets. Leave a small amount raw for flavor, partially decarb another small part, then fully decarb the remainder. Mix when done for flavor and potency everyone will love. It is a good idea to qualitatively familiarize yourself with the decarbing process. Behavior-wise, an old skunk pharms chart is still the gold standard to show different solutions. At the end of the day though, being able to discern from carboxylic acid groups precipitating out of the oil to form gas bubbles versus the oil/volatiles boiling is going to be the best way to perfect decarbs. Buying those gimmicky machines is wild.

I really enjoy making extra virgin olive. I even infuse it with THC by gently heating ground cannabis with olive oil at a low temperature for a couple of hours to activate the THC, then straining out the plant material. Once the infused oil is ready, I pour it over Doritos or Cheetos (any food works, but these absorb it well) and bake them for a while until they turn crispy. This is perfect for savory recipes. 🎅

i had some advice for my rosin puck to coconut oil ratio on my overdose diary. M0use had a good suggestion but it didn't fully click for me at the time. Just use whatever you have and you can make a strong concentrated base of unknown potency, you then just have to make different recopies of different levels incrementally until you find the doses that works. because for me it was nearly impossible to know the potency of my pucks. That's the layman's way without serious measuring tools that are expensive. I can eat 400 mg in my morning coffee and take 5 bong rips and not even flinch. i metabolize edibles differently. Most people would be done for lol

just understand that any process involving heat may cause some loss of potency. also, de-carbing is a matter of heat x time, for the most part. It doesnt' matter if you do it seperately or if it happens while 'cooking' edibles, like brownies. This can cause loss of potency by over-doing it if you decarb and bake, for example. You may need a much shorter decarb process or none at all depending on the amount of heat and time applied later in the process. Don't need to do it twice, is the keypoint here. Whether it's plant material on a tray in the oven or plant material mixed into something does change some aspects of it... heat absorption will be different and may affect how much time you need to give it.. but the gist of what i say is true... the best recipes would kill 2 birds with 1 stone... properly cook whatever you are making and take care of the de-carb process. save time/effort and less loss of active ingredient.
