I personally do a complex lipid blend, with distinct oils that have varying rates of absorption as a function of time. MCT oil is not optional, it is utterly unique to humans in that it is the only lipid with no need for a carrier to pass the barrier, meaning the cannabinoids delivered via the MCT oil will be entering the liver and then 11hydroxy...on the fastest clock possible (way faster than the other oils). MCT oil solids are finally in acceptable price ranges.
Another trick is to use different degrees of decarbed oil for a more broad spectrum. For example, partition your input into multiple subsets. Leave a small amount raw for flavor, partially decarb another small part, then fully decarb the remainder. Mix when done for flavor and potency everyone will love.
It is a good idea to qualitatively familiarize yourself with the decarbing process. Behavior-wise, an old skunk pharms chart is still the gold standard to show different solutions. At the end of the day though, being able to discern from carboxylic acid groups precipitating out of the oil to form gas bubbles versus the oil/volatiles boiling is going to be the best way to perfect decarbs. Buying those gimmicky machines is wild.
